Re: New Pilot House opens Friday!
Woodless 2.0, Glad you're coming to Boulder on the 20th.
I've been in talks with the alumni department and we are starting a Colorado Alumni Chapter, with a recruiting event taking place in conjunction with the game. It sounds like we have a pregame social set up, and we are working on securing tickets for alumni who RSVP. Hopefully communication comes out soon so that those of us who are going no matter what can make sure we get a ticket.

Ug. I've been on that losing side of a 15-50. We'll bounce back. Rebuilding year.up7587 wrote:dholcombe wrote:That bad?! 2nd in cross country indeed sounds like worst all time along with that other year we didn't get 1st.
Actually, no Pilot runner finished ahead of any BYU runner. BYU took 7 of the top 8 spots. So it was not a close second.

Thinking about it. Need to find a safe place in Boulder to park a brand new truck with UP and CSU stickers on the back.Woodless 2.0 wrote:

Re: New Pilot House opens Friday!
I got an email yesterday that the Pilot Club event on Saturday is in the Pilot House
For those of you that aren't Pilot Club members, I'm sure you can fill out an application at the door
As special supporters of the Pilots and in lieu of our regularly scheduled State of Pilots Athletics event, Pilot Club would like to invite you to attend a pre-game event at the new Pilot House this Saturday, November 7 from 12:30pm to 1:45pm. This pre-exhibition game event will be open to Pilot Club members only. For $10 per person, you can enjoy a light buffet and beverage from the pub. We’ll have this year’s Pilot Club gift available for pick up as well

Re: New Pilot House opens Friday!
I very briefly stepped into the Pilot House last weekend, and was floored by how great it turned out. The layout is very different than what I imagined, but so much better.... and big! The space seems *much* larger than what was there before. I think it will be a great gathering location for students and us old folks now and then.
Not to be missed in this renovation is the new bookstore... which now has its own exterior entrance. The interior space also seems larger than it was, but really probably isn't, just a better use of the space. There also seemed to be more selection of Pilot apparel and knick knacks (still not enough Nike, though!)... but that could also have been a function of the MUCH improved display & layout of everything and much warmer feel. The whole bookstore experience is vastly improved, in my opinion.

Re: New Pilot House opens Friday!
I was fortunate enough to have some students treat me to lunch in the Pilot House today....and it was the first time some had been in the new Pilot House because "the lines have been so long."
They too were very impressed by the space and the menu; apparently other students have been too!
I am concerned some will just remain in the bar on game night and watch the game on one of the big TVs instead of attending in person....it's something that will just have to be addressed through adept marketing, I guess.

Re: New Pilot House opens Friday!
Haha, well it has to do with ROTC Cadets, challenge coins, and esprit de corps.Geezaldinho wrote:Mooch.

Normally a lost challenge will result in a beer or a round of beers, but as it was not yet 1600 (4PM).......
Today I lost a challenge (the cadets had their coins), so on Friday after classes it's my turn to buy.
(Here's a good reference for the rules of challenge coins: http://emilitarycoins.com/knowmore/challenge_coin_rules.php)
