Premier League Empty Premier League

Post by Guest Mon Apr 25, 2016 8:37 pm

The Premier League is nearing conclusion, only three games to go.  And Leicester City is getting ever closer to the title.  On Sunday they beat Swansea 4-0 with their star striker Vardy out on a red card.  Tottenham needed to win today to keep pace, but gave up a 2nd half goal to West Brom for a 1-1 tie.  They are now down 7 points.

The Foxes play at Man U on Sunday, and a win will clinch the title.  Should be a good one to set your DVR for.

Edit: before the season started LCFC were 5,000 to 1 odds to win at one book, 2,500 to 1 at others. Seems like that would be the longest odds champion ever if they finish this.

So apparently Spurs and Blues don't like each other. Quite a rowdy game today, lots of hard fouls and a scrum at the end.

Chelsea came back from 2 down at half to tie at the finish. That leaves Tottenham down 7 points with two games to play. So Leicester clinches the title.

Since Leicester City winning the EPL last year was an oddsmaker's nightmare, what are the odds this year that LCFC wins the Champion League while getting relegated?

One game to go in the 2019 season.  Liverpool has only lost one game all year.  And they are not likely to win the league.  Manchester City has a one point lead, and their last game is at home against Brighton and Hove Albion, the last team to avoid relegation.  Liverpool goes on the road to face Wolverhampton, the 7th place team having a decent season.  Liverpool has 29 wins and 7 draws with their 1 loss, while Man City has 31 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses.

Correction: Manchester City is on the road at Brighton, and Liverpool is at home vs. Wolverhampton.

Wow. We have two Premier League clubs competing in the Champions League final (Tottenham vs. Liverpool), and two Premier League clubs competing in the Europa League final (Arsenal vs. Chelsea - from the same city even!), and a completely different Premier League oil rig club competing for the English trebble.

Sadly maybe for this conversation, I do not really follow the Premier League as I am a Celtic supporter. If I follow an English club, it's Forest Green Rovers who are currently in League Two...
