Long time UP Board of Regents member Earle Chiles passed away today (June 23) after an extended illness.

Earle's steadfast devotion to the support of UP brought about significant changes to the UP campus, most notably the Earle A. and Virginia H. Chiles Center, but his generosity extended much deeper and included Pilot athletics, student scholarships, and campus ministry.

UP President Fr. Mark Poorman will preside at his funeral Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland on Friday July 1 at 10:00 am.
