Olympics
Great start for both the US and Canada. Christine had a great game, nice to see Sophie on the pitch too. I hadn't realized Megan had recovered enough to make the US team, looking forward to seeing her get some playing time.

Re: Olympics
Another good day for both teams yesterday. The US is going to have to tighten up their defense if they hope to beat the likes of Germany.

Re: Olympics
Megan didn't "make" the team. She hasn't seen a second of play since the injury.
Call it a reward for her WC performance.
I think she either plays in the quarterfinals or gets replaced.

Engen's sloppy play threw the whole defense off with others covering.
It took putting two defenders on her side ( O'Hara,Krieger) to help out in the second half.
Hope Johnson is healthy for the quarters.

Megan Rapinoe's return is coming at just the right time for the United States.....Geezaldinho wrote:Megan didn't "make" the team. She hasn't seen a second of play since the injury.

Re: Olympics
As it turns out, Megan Rapinoe is no coward and also knows something about being gracious despite a heartfelt loss. The women’s national team lost to the Swedes and their defensive tactics. Rapinoe, as most of you know, countered Hope Solo’s charge that the Swedish team themselves were cowards.
I recall that she chose to be a Pilot. I am proud she did.
As it turns out, Sinclair has, arguably, been the best women’s soccer player in the world in the last decade. Today Sinclair scored a goal against Brazil whom the Canadians beat 2-1 for the Bronze medal.
I recall that she too chose to be a Pilot. I am proud she did.
I do not by this praise intend to forget the countless others, just note how special these two players were.
