10/29 vs Multnomah
The first exhibition game is this Saturday @ 7PM vs Multnomah University. I know nothing about them except that they are the Lions and play in the NAIA.
Anyone know if pilot club events or pregame pasta will be available for the exhibition games?

I think the Lions will have tired legs on Saturday.....blacksheep wrote:The first exhibition game is this Saturday @ 7PM vs Multnomah University. I know nothing about them except that they are the Lions and play in the NAIA.
Multnomah plays New Hope Christian tonight (Friday) @ 6:45 and then plays them again tomorrow (Saturday) @ noon before heading across town to UP for the 7 o'clock matchup.
In their one game to this point in the season, #3, #12, and #21 combined for 75 points out of the 107 the team scored.
I asked Chier Maker if he could play tomorrow, his answer was "no, not until December."

Exhibition games are what they are, but I will admit to much preferring playing a fresh team that gives us their all rather than a team playing their third game in 24 hours. Oh well.

I guess they won't be rusty at least...
From their perspective why would they schedule like that? Maybe one game the day before, but what do they get out of playing the same team again at noon tomorrow?

How big is the squad? It might not be the same players both games and they are trying to get all the players minutes in preseason.
A check of the box scores tomorrow might suss that out.

I heard at the soccer game tonight that the noon game will be Multnomah's JV squad. Not sure about the Friday night game.

MU's varsity lost last night, but won today at noon.....

IF(big if)minutes in a lone exhibition game are indicative of how much playing time is likely for the upcoming season, barring injury, the following minutes played last night are notable: Rashad Jackson 21 minutes, Philipp Hartwich 19 minutes, Smoyer 8 and Barreno 3, and Jarrel Marshall 13 minutes. The Pilots played small . . .

Re: 10/29 vs Multnomah
They could afford to play small last night, since Multnomah took many shots from NBA range.
Rashad did some good things with his time. And Philipp played OK, against shorter players. Next game will be more of the same, as Evergreen has no one over 6'-6".
