Nemanja Mitrovic
I was just checking out the espn.com team page for the Pilots and it says they have signed Nemanja Mitrovic, a small forward out of Canada. I do not remember seeing any posts on here about him, so I did a quick search and nothing turned up. Does anyone know anything about this guy, espn gave him a rating of 40, which seems to be the lowest rating possible.

Previous Signing
Mitrovic was signed in November. Here is a previous thread: http://pilotnation.net/pilot-basketball-f5/canadian-recruit-6-5-shooter-t398.htm
This guy is a bit of an unknown, but I remember Rev saying he was the best shooter he had seen in all of his recruiting... so it sounds like someone Rev really wanted.
It will be interesting to see who we sign in the spring...

Re: Nemanja Mitrovic
From what Ive seen in the past from ESPN, they usually give a rating of 40 to prospects that they dont have a scouting report on and most international players have that rating.
I tried to dig up some info, but did not find alot.
However he seems to be highly ranked in Canadian basketball, and was recruited by bunch of other D1 schools. The only ones that Ive seen named are South Florida, Cornell, and Columbia. There is also mention of other schools on some sites but none are named.
South Florida is a good Big East program, so that alone should give us some idea of his potential.
Im excited to see him play, and it really will be interesting to see who we sign for the second spot.

Re: Nemanja Mitrovic
Don't know how I missed this earlier, but Nem is now a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in international basketball competitions.
We know he missed the Alumni Game in late June because he was in the midst of tryouts for a professional team in Spain. Until recently, when he started training camp with his national team, he had been in Spain for a couple of months, but I have nothing to report on the results of those tryouts.
RUMOR is he is looking to sign or has signed with Unicaja Málaga, based in Málaga, Andalusia, but I cannot confirm that!

I love that you dredged up a 4.5 year old post rather than creating a new one.

Ha ha, yea, I'm a real conservationist.... and a bit of history buff.ShipstadPilot11 wrote:I love that you dredged up a 4.5 year old post rather than creating a new one.
But, you're right; it can be annoying when someone shows up and starts a new thread without checking to see what's on the board first.
Hmm, that gives me an idea......we should find some of the first-ever posts and do a version of "where are they now?"
BTW, wish you'd post more; just waiting for basketball season?

Re: Nemanja Mitrovic
I've been crazy busy with work for the most part.
Basketball is my #1 Pilot sport and there just isn't a whole lot to talk about in the summer. I get on and lurk every few days but it's nothing like in-season when I'm checking for new posts (and responding) multiple times a day.

This doesn't bother me at all, actually, unless the post in question is recent. I really just think it's hilarious that you went back 4.5 years when a new post would have been totally fine.DoubleDipper wrote:But, you're right; it can be annoying when someone shows up and starts a new thread without checking to see what's on the board first.

The trouble with going back to old posts is that you have to respect the dominant theme of what the thread was about, which is eventually beer.

Speaking of which, I had Deschutes Chainbreaker White IPA yesterday for the first time. Not a big fan. Got some wierd spice thing going on that I can't handle. I actually found it a bit of a chore to get through....rest assured though....I did finish it

Re: Nemanja Mitrovic
And I had this:
It was SUPER chocolatey, and it definitely tastes strong, but the chocolate really mellows it out. Well, as much as you can mellow out an 11% beer....

ShipstadPilot, I have an exclusive tour of your workplace on Thursday at 2pm with my high school buddy who sells hops. I will make a specific request to visit sector 7G. D'OH!

Re: Nemanja Mitrovic
Leinenkugel's Big Eddy was at my local SuperSuperMarket with a sign that said "100 rating on RateBeer." So I picked up a 4 pack. Generally not a fan of Lienie's, but I thought what the heck. For an Imperial IPA I didn't taste too many hops. Sadly, my favorite beer of theirs is the Honey Weiss.

Like I tweeted at Rev in May, the 100% graduation rate is the impressive part.
