Cal State Fullerton returns 80% of its starting lineup from last season when they beat the Pilots in the Chiles Center, 76-66, then went on to win the Big West title before losing to Purdue in the NCAA Tournament, finishing with a 20-12 record.
The Titans may have a lousy record so far this season (3-9), but they’ve lost to some very good teams, ASU, Central Florida, LMU, SMC, Wake Forest, USF, and Nebraska…and they rarely play at home.
KenPom.com rates Fullerton’s schedule as the 4th toughest in the nation, while UP’s is rated at #336!
Fullerton’s backcourt, seniors Kyle Allman and Khalil Ahmad, have combined for over 35 points per game this season and junior forward Jackson Rowe adds almost 10 points and close to 7 rebounds per game.
Fullerton’s experience is #42 in the nation, while UP’s is #318, so it is no wonder that most are looking for a Fullerton blowout…by as few as 10 points, but by as many as 20. KenPom is guessing, 76-66, with a 19% possibility of an upset…so there’s always a chance!
Expect live video on Big West TV: http://bigwest.sidearmstreaming.com/watch/?Live=1647
There will be a tape-delay radio broadcast following the Oklahoma vs. Alabama College Football Playoff game at around 9pm PST on 910 ESPN, but by then we will all know the result.

Haaa, thanks DD!
Based on this year's results the advantage should be Pilots - Portland beat Sac State, Sac State beat Fullerton, that's how it works right?

To add to your point, When CSUF beat UP 77-72 in OT in 2016, Allman and Rowe were starters, and Ahmad came off the bench to play 32 minutes and score 21 points. No Pilot who played in that game is still on the roster.
Edit: Ahmad and Allman also played when UP beast CSUF 65-60 in 2015. Ahmad led them with 25 points.

I've seen some awful broadcasts in my time but between the drowning hum on the audio and the non-working scoreboard this one might just be the worst in history.

Led 36-26. Down 55-38. That's a 29-2 run. My God. Cannot stand any more of the TV, going to radio.

They never had a 10-point lead. I think they led by 1 or 2 a couple times but never anywhere close to 10.
They were up 34-33, so it was a 25-4 run that made it 55-38. Not much better than 29-2, but another game-losing stretch for the Pilots.

I think I'm conflating my games. I had like four games I was tracking simultaneously.Dean Murdoch wrote:They never had a 10-point lead. I think they led by 1 or 2 a couple times but never anywhere close to 10.

Well, this was going to be a tough game. CSUF is pretty solid.

Lose the last 3 minutes of 1st half by 10, and he 2nd half by 5, and that's a 79-64 fifteen point loss. 6 of 18 from 3Pt, and 14 of 22 on FTs. Outrebounded 44-22, with 16 OREB for Fullerton. Allman and Ahmad combined for 47 points.
