The only player with ties to Portland on the list is Kacie Young.

Where'd she go after Frenchie came in? Kansas?

She started all 21 games for Kansas, with 1 goal and 1 assist. She's listed as a midfielder, so I assume she was holding mid given those numbers.

Good for her, too bad she didn't stay to play for Frenchie.

On another NWSL note, Veronica Boquette signed with Utah.

The Thorns wouldn’t re-sign her because she would not sign with Portland as a primary contract, which meant she could be called away by her Spanish team anytime.

Her career has slipped a bit since then, but I expect she will still help them quite a bit.

Kansas got into the play-offs so Kaycie got the opportunity to play in two games of the NCAA tournament. It was nice she got to have that experience.

Sophie Schmidt has signed with the Houston Dash.

Rachel Rapinoe has left her position as volunteer coach. Good luck to her in her next step, which I think will be entrepreneurial in nature.

Another Pilot is a head coach.

Tifeny Milbrett is now the youth director for the Tampa Bay Rowdys organization. Here is an interview with her on a local Tampa tv show.

Steph Cox has come out of retirement to be a fill in player for the Reign while players are gone for the World Cup.  She's been an assistant coach for the Reign this year, so it will be an easy step to actually playing.

This will bring up the number of U of P grads in the NWSL this year up to four: Cox, Megan Rapinoe, Christine Sinclair, and Sophie Schmidt. The latter three also will be playing in the World Cup.

UP women’s soccer gets mention as one of the things that set the stage.

With any luck, she might get in tomorrow when they take on Christine and the Thorns.

Hazlett did manage to get her feet wet in the pros when she got into the Thorn-OL Reign match on Saturday for the last six minutes plus extra time.

It’s a start. Let’s hope she gets called back next Spring!

The Thorns game with Washington was “postponed” due to 4 Spirit players testing positive for Covid.

The original plan was to play the match Tuesday, but that is also canceled.
