Looking at PSU's web site, it appears the game on Wednesday will be broadcast on Pluto TV. I've never used that. What is involved to get it?

It’s a free streaming service owned by Viacom. It’s usually available as a chrome plugin or in my case, an iPad/iOS  app.

They package free content from all different sources, stick some adds in between shows, and generally try to present an interface ( guide, etc) that sort of looks like a Comcast or directTv guide.

They include, for example, some of Hulu’s free content and news channels, etc.

When I clicked on Watch on the PSU schedule, it jumped to ch.60 in the guide.

They also have a dvd and on demand service. I think you pay for that. I’m not sure. Never tried to use those.

The Plutotv site will direct you to whatever plugin/app you need. I don’t think you have to actually sign up or anything.

I've used Pluto to watch games in the past and except for the occasional buffering, it was a good picture.  As mentioned, it has a guide with various channels to choose from and it's pretty intuitive.

As I recall, my only complaint was not with Pluto, but with the quality of the transmission and camera work from the arena, although the occasional 30 second to a minute advertisements popping up in the middle of play were also annoying.  Maybe those problems are now minimal.

No special equipment needed, just go to the Pluto website https://www.pluto.tv/live-tv/ and use the guide accessed by the large yellow button on the lower right hand quarter of the screen to find the game or follow the link on the PSU schedule page and you're in.  Usually the Vikings games are on Channel 532.

I view the games on an android laptop that is hardwired to my BIG screen TV through a HDMI cable, and it's all good!

Yeah, buffering and ads have been a problem, and I really dislike the occasional lack of HD and the sometimes amateurish camera work...but it's FREE!

I used to always attend the games at the Stott Center, but found the extra 2+ hours of driving, MAX, and walking is no longer worth my effort.  If the Pilots would go back to the days when we had a pregame gathering of fans for pizza & beer and a chalk talk from the coach, and we were all seated together at the game, I'd be there!

If you have not yet visited the new Viking Pavilion, you should, it's a very nice facility that seats about 3100, and it's very enclosed and close to the action...but be prepared for steep climb to your seat.  Rolling Eyes

Steep climb unless you sit in the back, which isn’t a bad idea. Good views anywhere.

Great arena! Should be a close game. Why is this being played in PSU's gym for the second year in a row?

I'm guessing to make up for playing two years in a row at Chiles while Stott was being renovated.

PSU returns only three players from the team that beat the Pilots last year, but the helter-skelter up-and-down the court style is still there.  We’ll see PSU full-court press for 40 minutes and shoot with only 5 to 10 seconds off the shot clock as they attempt to wear-down UP.  Boo Boo Woods is a wizard at dribble-driving (he scored 27 at Indiana) and former SCU guard Matt Hauser is a shooter (21 at Indiana)!

The Pilots have done well in their first four games by having a good assist to turnover ratio and by stealing the ball, but they’re going to have keep from making “live” turnovers against PSU that result in easy transition baskets. Turning the ball over is never good, but turnovers that result in opponent’s points are bad!

Because the Vikings will be creating havoc, they will also foul, so it’s imperative the Pilots hit their free-throws. Likewise, with all the havoc, the Pilots legs will tire and they’re going to have to go deeper on the bench than in past games.  I think we’ll finally see Lavar Harewood get some court time as his maturity should help the team settle down, and we could even see Isaiah White in the post due to his leaping ability, ball handling skills, and free-throw shooting.

It’s interesting to note that UP Assistant Tyler Geving was 2-5 against UP while he was the head coach at PSU, and now in his first year in charge of the offense at UP, I’m sure he’d like to take it to the school that fired him, but an equally big task falls to UP Assistant Ben Johnson who’s now in charge of the defense.

The keys to winning are obvious: 1. Hit shots and slow down PSU’s transition by making them take the ball out of the basket; 2. Hit free-throws; 3. Rebound.

Hauser tied his collegiate career high against the Pilots a couple of seasons ago when he scored 22 against them. I believe this was the game where the Pilots had a chance to tie or win late but couldn't come up with a shot on the final possession.

Oh right, I forgot about that. Will be fun to win one on their court. Pilots take it 69-62.

Doesn’t sound like a PSU score. Nobody has held them to 62 this year, including Indiana.

Last year three teams did it. (N. Colorado, LMU, and Oregon)

BYU couldn’t do it, though they held us to 56 and 48 in our two games. LMU also held us to 55 last year.

In all, 11 teams held us to 62 or below last year.

Nice save, But the lowest anybody has held them is 74.(Indiana)

I’d be tickled if we can muster as good a D as the Hoosiers, but....

Las Vegas has PSU favored by 6.5 points with a 142.5 o/u.

(I just saw an eye-popping stat, the Vikings create 20 opponent turnovers per game... Shocked )

Well, sort of.  Apparently the prime minister advised the monarch that his subjects were yelling, "off with his head," and that immediate changes must be made!

So the monarch followed the PM's "advice," and not only began listening to members of his royal court, but after exiling one of his dukes, put two of his remaining dukes in charge of running his kingdom...which made the remaining dukes and prime minister very happy. king

After one of the crown princes, the heir to the throne, left the court the dukes happily began conducting the king's business on both sides of the king's court, and the other prince developed into a potential king... farao

Whether everyone will live happily ever after and the king will retain his head remains to be seen...

What channels do you all see on Pluto TV? Only sports channel I see is 513 and it appears to be wall-to-wall kickboxing. I wonder if I’m getting region locked out of this, too...
