Hey, but the Pilots beat San Diego in the first round of the WCC Tournament that year.up7587 wrote:2-3 is the best conference start for the Pilots since opening the 2016-17 season with 2 wins then losing the next 16 conference games.
And as I recall, that is the year UP beat Walla Walla in "tune-up" game toward the conclusion of the regular season in Porter's first year on The Bluff.

Only caught a snippet of Legs postgame interview - but during it a Pacific player came up to him to say goodbye or whatever and Legs told him thank you but that he broke his heart and he should be wearing purple. Do we know who that was?

I believe that is correct.up7587 wrote:Pretty sure it was Alphonso Anderson. He's from Tacoma and played 3 years at Utah State before transferring to UOP.
Anderson played one year at Montana, then one year at a JUCO, then two years at Utah St. before graduating in June.
I was told Legs wanted him at UP, and reportedly Anderson wanted to come to UP, but UP's graduate school requires certain prerequisites, including undergraduate courses and grades, before it allows admission...who knew.
However, if Anderson had come to UP for his final year of eligibility, it is fairly certain Moses Wood with the possibility of playing three years would not have come to UP.
Last night, Anderson had 17 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 2-3 from beyond the arc.

Yeah, Pacific lists Anderson as a 6'6" guard. He looked and played like a power forward in my eyes.
