I agree. Nduka and Tyler are working hard bodying up to the other bigs. LMU's guys were bulky, but not real tall. I can't get over Tyler trying to hold out Oregon's 6'11" 230# center. He had no chance.

Enough with the back patting. Time to focus on Bushnell. Stranger things have happened. They are in a no lose situation.

#102 USF's 76-65 inexplicable loss to #286 UP playing without Isaiah White on January 24, 2020, for the Pilots' only WCC win in three season and the last WCC win until UP beat Pepperdine a month ago...Dean Murdoch wrote:Snus Junction wrote:Stranger things have happened.

Ohh, now you’re in my era. Will never know how the Pooh, Donald, Coop core didn’t win more than they did. Although I think you alluded to it in your post

Last year's team beating an Oregon State team that would eventually make a run to the Elite Eight, and then going winless in conference play.

Anyone else rooting for LMU on Thursday night? I've recently developed an intense animosity toward their opponent. Let's go, Lions!

I dunno, did you see the way some of their players tore those purple towels in frustration near the end of the game? They seemed like perfectly good towels too!

Good on the Oregonian for reporting on this! The behind-the-scenes story is even more infuriating than what had previously been made public. Santa Clara didn't even have the decency to tell UP directly; they just causally announced it on a conference call! And that statement from the WCC is embarrassing. Unreal.

Good article, other than erring on the location of the LMU game with Tyler's great performance.
UP misses out on two marque conference games that bring in extra spectators, BYU and SCU. Pilot season ticket holders miss out on two conference home games, and I do not consider Bushnell a replacement for that.
GU had two games postponed, @LMU and @UOP, and is not making them up.
SMC had three games postponed, USF, @SCU, @UOP, and is not making up the UOP game. So UOP went to go play at USC instead of getting SMC at home. (I wonder why they made that game?)
USF only had one game postponed, SMC, and they are making that up.
See a pattern? If you are in the bottom half of the league, who cares if you lose home games.
Santa Clara is probably saying, hey, if GU, BYU and SMC don't have to make up games at lower ranked schools, why should we?
So the "big guys" continually tell the rest of the conference, you need to get better. Then they deny us home games and revenue. Yeah, go Lions.

BTW, between this Santa Clara story, the Tyler Robertson article yesterday and the Phil Knight tournament, this must set some record for most Pilots coverage in the Oregonian in a 2-day span.
