Just got home from a trip, and saw Dean was waiting for me! Waves bring their last place record to Chiles, and the Pilots have another opportunity to show that the Porter era is completely purged. Now I need to leave for the game. Go Pilots!

There are babies over two weeks old that have never experienced a Pilots loss. As long as you're hot, we gotta go with what's working!

Pepperdine is coming off two straight solid performances. 6-point loss to BYU and a 20-point loss to Gonzaga aren't bad outings. Houston Mallette has been lights out these past few games too, and would probably have a shot at WCC Freshman of the Year if it weren't for Holmgren.

I had a feeling this was going to be a toughie after seeing Pepperdine put together back-to-back decent performances against two of the WCC's top teams.

Huge credit to the Pilots for that late comeback. What a way to close it out!!

I've been worried about your health at Pilot games for a long time. We can't win then all by 30. Winning the close games is what good teams do!

There was a controversial with under 3-1/2 minutes to go and Pilots down 2. Chika originally drew a charge, then it was changed to a block.  Chika was outside the restricted zone.  I am not an expert, but if you watch the video, it looks like Chika made a short step into his final position while the shooter was in the air.  Perhaps that is why they reversed the call.  I ask more knowledgeable fans to check the video starting at 1:41:50 and give their opinion.

This was my thought as well after seeing the replay from the camera under the hoop. I honestly don't know what the correct call is here.

I asked two people who know a lot more about hoops than I ever will...

"I like a no call there but he takes an extra step and a half over after the guy takes off. Sliding under a guy in the air should be a block in my opinion"

PILOTS CONTINUE TO SOAR: First-year Portland coach Shantay Legans’ squad keeps winning. The Pilots (16-12, 6-6) edged Pepperdine 77-74 to establish a four-game conference win streak for the first time since 2010. They also have assured themselves at least a .500 overall record for the first time since 2015.

Tyler Robertson converted a three-point play with 27 seconds left to put Portland ahead of the Waves for good and teammate Moses Wood scored a career-high 24 points.

With a win Thursday at Pacific, the Pilots would match their biggest win total since posting 20 victories in 2011.
