In other news, OSU, fresh of their 3-0 triumph over UP, walloped #6 SMU 7-1 in Dallas to advance to the Elite Eight.

LMU lost to #5 West Virginia 3-1 last night, and the Mountaineers will now play #9 Clemson on Friday in the College Cup.

The OSU Beavers kept their hot streak alive by beating #3 North Carolina 1-0, after wins over Seattle U, #11 UP, and #6 SMU.

The Beavers will next take on #2 Notre Dame after the Fighting Irish beat Indiana on PKs yesterday.

Oregon State's terrific run ended tonight when they lost to #2 Notre Dame, 1-0.

But the game was not without controversy when defender Javier Armas and coach Greg Dalby were suspended for the NCAA men’s soccer College Cup semi-final match as a result of Armas playing while ineligible during the Beavers’ quarterfinal playoff match against North Carolina.

Armas was suspended for two games and Dalby four games because Armas was ineligible to play in his previous game with eight accumulated yellow cards during the season. Armas was hit with his eighth yellow card in the round of 16 match against SMU, which (should) have resulted in a suspension in the following game (North Carolina).

#2 Notre Dame will face #9 Clemson on Monday after the Tigers defeated the WVU Mountaineers, 1-0 in the first game today.
