Timbers / Thorns
President Mike Golub and GM Gavin Wilkinson have been fired from their positions in the wake of the Yates investigation. Merrit Paulson has removed himself from any involvement in the teams. Still cries for him to sell the Thorn. Not sure how that would work, with him being the leaseholder of the stadium.
I see Golub is on the boards of OPB and UP.

And that was only the latest revelation--the Oregonian has previously written about the "toxic" work environment he created in the front office, and the very weird way he handled a protest by the team's longtime national anthem singer.
I would hope that this isn't the kind of person UP would voluntarily associate itself with.
Cindy Parlow Cone reported that in 2013, while serving as coach of the Portland Thorns, Golub asked her, ‘what’s on your bucket list besides sleeping with me?’

Although still listed on the UP website as a regent, I am told Golub is no longer affiliated with the university.Rob's Jacket wrote:I would hope that this isn't the kind of person UP would voluntarily associate itself with.

I guess the next question is whether the affiliation ended before or after the release of the Yates report.
I see he is no longer listed on the boards of OPB or the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

The Portland Tribune asks:
Should fans of Portland Thorns attend Oct. 23 playoff match?
I say YES!! Absolutely! After all, it is all about supporting the players...the place should be full!

Arrived late and walked into a sea of red and black...not a green Timbers seat to be seen anywhere with over 22,000 attending the game.DoubleDipper wrote:The Portland Tribune asks:

New mom Crystal Dunn scored the game winner off a thunderous kick off a poorly cleared Thorns corner kick in about the 2nd minutes of stoppage time. Quite a few fans were wondering where Christine Sinclair was, and she finally took the pitch at about the 6th minutes of stoppage time to close out the match to rowdy applause.
Next up: Thorns vs. KC Current, winners over the OL Reign today, on October 29th in the NWSL final in Washington, DC.
