waynefan I agree with you on two points. Stohl is looking much better, at the beginning of the season he looked like a freshman. After a excellent first half Santa Clara smothered him and I don't believe enough screens were set for him to get off his quick release.Which would free-up the bigs and Ravio too.
You are correct about fastbreak points,non-exsistent. Other team can just plan on not having to get back. Did you see the times Knutson beat Santa Clara's 300+ overweight center down the court and it was 5 on 4? Granted he did'nt convert on his two shots, but I bet he would have made a few given more try's at fastbreak point's. That would have changed Santa Clara's whole defensive attidude. Believe me Knutson is built for full court speed and endurance vrs most other centers in the WCC and if somebody would have started rotating down on him to help out he would have kicked it out to Stohl or Ravio for 3 cheers cheers Very Happy

I think Stohl's first half season is affected by the confidence of the coaches in him. It looked like he was playing tentative cause if he messed up he'd get the quick hook. He still looks hesitant to drive.

Sikma's minutes were way down. Was he sick?

Ito's game is also not so hot the last three games, hope he gets it together soon.

Sikma was not sick neither was Knutson as said on this board before. Shakeup in lineups, caused a shakeup in minutes for some. Sikma's will be back up next game I believe
I hope Ito's starts playing better, I thought the guard play was as good as it normally is if not better even with his limited minutes

I'm back!

OK, so I think we are hearing some conflicting reports, Mesa... I heard Luke was definitely sick (even threw up after the game) and that Kramer was too, though maybe not to the same degree. And we know that Niedermeyer was out sick on Saturday... maybe something was going around.

Anyway, this game, in retrospect... we played some great defense for almost the entire game. Sure Santa Clara was cold shooting, but that doesn't explain it all away - even with us going long stretches without scoring, we were in the game. Kramer and Robin did a great job with Bryant (I know he didn't shoot well, but how about those 16 boards for Robin!), Angely didn't kill us, we kept the best three-point-shooting team in the WCC to a very low percentage, and Raivio was awesome down the stretch. So there is a lot that we can look at as positives.

Still, a win would have been nice... which is why we need to pick up two this weekend!

You might be right about Sikma ,Stonehouse. But, I talked to Kramer's Mom(the best source, lol) and she said he wasn't. But the Kid doesnt complain much so who know's.Let it be known that your the person king in the know with most of the scoops & interesting titbits about Portland Athletics which i enjoy. sunny .
I liked the lineup shakeup, what you think? Going to the game's Sat. and Mon. I'll be the referee "heckler" sitting behind the Portland Bench. If your there come down and say hi. First trip to Chiles Center, at least these are two games there is no excuse for not winning
