Spring ball

No word yet on a spring schedule for Spring Soccer. Most of those games will be called scrimmages and won't get any publicity. One or two games will get the full treatment of publicity and tickets.

You have to wonder if UP will try for a full blown National team, though, as short handed as they will be.

The news has just come over the wire, however, that USC announced Friday they will play Mexico at 7 p.m. Friday Feb 22 at the Coliseum. The USC press release tells us why:

USC head coach Ali Khorsoshahin served as an assistant to Mexico head coach Leonardo Cuellar at the 1999 Women’s World Cup and continues to serve on Cuellar’s staff.

If you missed it elsewhere, Larry Williams reported in an interview on KXL-750 that the women will play the u-23's in spring ball.

He also said the men will play "a couple of MLS teams"
