Pep Board Confirms Tucker Out
Looks like Rico Tucker is indeed done for the season:

Too bad for Rico - he really hurt the Pilots up here in Portland. Hope he comes back OK for next year.
Pepperdine, which was already short-handed, will really be short on guys now. Chances are UP will be a pretty significant favorite heading into the game... let's hope we can pick up a WCC tournament win for the second straight year!

Will any of the WCC games be on TV, or will it end up being only the championship?

Re: Pep Board Confirms Tucker Out
That really stinks for them... and Pepp had been playing much better ball recently until Rico went down last Saturday.
The Waves are now down to 9 players, 7 of which are scholarship players.
We should again be able to dominate the paint, and if we can wear them out (or get them in foul trouble) and they dont hit a 3-point hot streak, we should be able to get a W and move on to the 2nd round vs. USD.

Re: Pep Board Confirms Tucker Out
@Drummer: I don't think so, because it would have said it on this release if there were:
http://www.portlandpilots.com/sports/mbball/release.asp?release_id=4856
There should be live video-streaming on the WCC site, but maybe there won't be. Darn.
Oh well... the sweet sounds of Tom Kolker will have to get us by until the quarters.

Well, if take a gander at the handy "Tournament Central" post and the WCC Tournament page, it shows the men's semi finals and final on ESPN2 & ESPN. But it also looks like there is some sort of web cast for the other games...

Re: Pep Board Confirms Tucker Out
The last time Pepperdine was down to 7 scholarship players was '96. In fact, I think it was about 7 players, total, and maybe not all scholarship.
They knocked out conference champs Steve Nash and the Broncos in the first round that year ( teams played every round then). They made UP's road to the tournament easier.

Re: Pep Board Confirms Tucker Out
Their coach had quit, too for that game... they were the #8 seed, against #1 and host, SCU. I will never forget that game--probably the most amazing WCC game I have ever witnessed.
So Geez's point is well taken--we have to play 100% in this game and not let up for even a minute!
