NCAA tourney

So with SMC losing last night - can the WCC get 2-three teams in the tournament? In particular, if USD wins tonight, they get the auto-bid, Gonzaga gets in (currently ranked 23), where does thatn leave SMC (ranked between 26-30)?

What if Gonzaga wins, does SMC get in as well? Obviously this is a better bet for SMC than the above scenario.

I'd rather see three teams, but if Gonzaga wins I think SMC is in and USD is out.

USD needs to win no doubt.

SMC will be sweating it out big time. Their RPI should still be OK and there's no shame in losing to USD on their home floor, but still... that puts them at 2-3 against the top teams in the WCC, and you know that the selection committee may have a hard time picking a team from the WCC that didn't even make its conference final over a 6th place BCS conference team.

Actually, if USD does beat the Zags I think that would hurt SMC's chances, because it would be a huge shocker if three WCC teams made it.

That's what I think would be interesting, because the committee says they don't look at numbers by conferences - they look at individual teams and their performances. If that is indeed the case, then SMC could get the nod over a BCS team, even if USD wins tonight.

Nah... I'm too lazy to do that right now. Maybe after the WCC final tonight.
