They also stopped throwing full size Domino's Pizzas into the crowd after one of the airborn, spinning pizza boxes wasn't appropriately taped shut, spraying out slices of pepperoni pizza over the student section... (And yes, people still ate the slices...)

Now that was a great give away. Students really wanted (dare I say needed?) the pizza, not just "kinda wanted" like they do now with the T-Shirts...

OH man... If I had been tossed a pizza in the middle of a game... especially with my typical game "state" I would have been the happiest boy in the world... And I didn't know you could get any happier wearing a Coky jersey watching pilots basketball, sipping out of my bottle of blue uh... "powerade"

I remember the pizza promotion... that was awesome.

Another old promotion I loved... at the first media timeout, they would go around and pick the craziest Pilot fan to be a VIP for the game. They had a couch set up along the sideline and they would bring them food and candy and anything else they wanted. And they would let them bring family and friends with them. I always thought that was really fun and people totally got into it.

Also... I was so happy to see them bring back the paper airplane toss this year! That has always been my favorite promotion (and not only because I won it one year!), and I was sad that we didn't have it the past year or two.

I had forgotten about that! That was a terrible, terrible call and I remember the entire student section screaming at the refs all the way as they walked out of the building.

Was that the game where the students tried to get through public safety to the visiting team back behind the game?

Mmmm... don't remember that happening. It's possible some students wanted to talk some trash to Jason Keep after that game, since was definitely egging us all on.

Yea, I think that was more of a trash talking expedition. I don't think any students REALLY wanted to mix it up with the bigger and stronger basketball players (maybe Mr. "Attack").

Haha yeah I do remember that being a particularly interesting incident.... The other one that comes to mind is the Winthrop game talking crap to the coaches and then after the game asking one of the players as he walked by... "Is your coach always that much of an a*****e??" and then he turned around and shook his head yes.... It was pretty phenomenal

Jason Keep was a monster...

I remember a WCC Tourney game @ USD many years ago, where USD had a bye, and they were sitting in the bleachers watching the game, the winner of which they would play. The crowd of the team that was winning (I dont recall which team), in the final seconds started chanting & pointing "Are you ready?!" to the USD team... Jason Keep then stood up stepped out on the floor a bit and started mouthing "Are YOU ready?!" and pointing at the other crowd across the gym... it was classic!
