Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
I am judging if there is sufficient interest in printing up some Pilot Nation t-shirts for us...
We were thinking of having a design contest with the members, with the winner getting not only the satisfaction of their work, but also a free shirt, and then selling the shirts *at cost* to members...
I would love to design some cool shirts (insert bookstore comment here ) that would also promote this site... The timing seems right with our 2nd birthday behind us and the approach to 20,000 posts.
I'm guessing approximately $10 per shirt... and they would be good quality shirts, not just slightly more durable than paper towels...
Thoughts? Yes? No? Establish a whole spring line of PN gear?

Re: Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
I would love to buy a Pilotnation shirt, only if it was sleeveless and showed off the midriff...
In all seriousness, I support it and would use all of my free time (which is roughly 168 hours a week) and my lack of artistic ability to design a kick-butt shirt!
Also, love the new avatar Nut (is that an avatar? or a logo? I don't know, I'm not computer/Internet savvy).

PN shirt? Want!
Nut, you might already know this, but there are plenty of guys on the Timbers board who can point you to good local places to get them produced.

I believe "avatar" is correct.
Thanks... I got busy cutting and pasting online over the weekend...
Hmmm, maybe a Pilot Nation tube top should be an option?

Re: Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
I'm definitely in... My old purple pride shirt is getting a bit faded and undersized.
I'd have to talk with some friends but if I recall when we got the shirts done for the first PP season it cost $8 a shirt (haha that was definitely not the HIGH quality t-shirt, but they still looked pretty sharp) but that of course is when ordered in a fairly sizable bulk quantity. Also we could ask the Athletic Dept and see if they have any place they might recommend as well....

Re: Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
I have someone that I have used for other printing, and should be able to get a good rate. I was estimating $10 for a good quality shirt, and allowing for more than 1 color printing, etc., if necessary.

I'm in. Great price too. As Cosmo Kramer or George would say, "I dig!"

For those of us who are soccer nuts, designing a scarf would not be a bad idea either. . .

You want TA-style sponsors for these? If so, 5.SciFi wrote:For those of us who are soccer nuts, designing a scarf would not be a bad idea either. . .

Re: Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
Personally I think the shirts should only be purple and white... Seeing that those are the actual school colors (none of that black crap).
I'd definitely be down for a Pilot Nation scarf too while I'm at it! Perhaps it should include an old school wally head on it and the sternwheel logo...

I'd do it if I had the time and graphic arts skills.

Re: Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
I like the scarf idea, too... I do know that the bookstore/Athletic Department is working on that front, too...
I generally agree, DTR, on sticking to Purple and White. But maybe a little accent color or something, depending on the design...

One T-shirt, please, whatever the cost -- but hold the scarf. If we could have the shirts by season ticket holder day, that would be sweet.

Re: Pilot Nation T-shirts...?
There is a website where you can design your scarf and they will produce them for you on a modular basis. Ill try to find it again and post. I have a villa scarf maybe we can adapt those or find out where they had theirs done up.
As for the PN t-shirt I think Pilot Nut has the logo already done. Just use the same alphabet to to spell PilotNation

That would be pretty cool BUT we may run into a problem with the font being a copyright of both the university and nike... And by them letting us use the font it could show endorsement, which could potentially get them in trouble (especially when we get into our in depth recruiting discussions and whatnot). I know it's stupid, but the whole reason they abandoned the pinwheel was because it wasn't copywritten, the new font is... if we sell the shirts it could potentially wrangle up some legal issues (even if they are just being sold at cost...)
I'm not sure if we can ask the university, haha but again that could be a lot more trouble than it's worth...

From the tag it looks like the same place as the TA (and nearly everyone else) does theirs.Auto Pilot wrote:There is a website where you can design your scarf and they will produce them for you on a modular basis.
