Upcoming Season per the Trib
We could be hurting a little come playoff time. I assume there exists no possibility that Michelle, or Keelin or Ellie will return once they depart, even if we go deep into the playoffs without them? Hmmn?

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Well, on a positive note, Michelle will be playing this year, not redshirting. I suppose Garrett left the door open a little for the others redshirting. My hope is that by the time those 3 leave for the U-20 WC, we will have had significant time to get the freshman experienced enough to handle the playoffs. And also that having a healthy Michelle, and a healthy Megan can put us in a good enough position to have a favorable draw in the tourney.

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Did you notice VICTORIA NGUYEN called the Oregon game a preseason? Thats what the NSCAA scoreboard still calls it, too.
I'm still not clear that it will count in the RPI.

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Interesting, why would it be treated any different than others? Is there some limitation of what date the first official game can be scheduled?

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Mmm... our official site has it listed as a regular game. I think the Trib writer is using "pre-season" as kind of a catch-all term that denotes "non-conference". I didn't take it to mean "exhibition".
Here it is on the official site:
http://www.portlandpilots.com/schedule.aspx?path=wsoc
As opposed to the basketball schedule, which clearly indicates an exhibition.

Do you have a link to the NSCAA scoreboard?

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
The season starts 11 weeks before the tournament , during which you can play 20 regular season games. This meets both criteria.
I'm not sure what the deal is...

sure sounds like she thinks UofO doesn't count.

With less than three weeks until the season opener, Smith says a win over UCLA is important – but not vital – to the team’s postseason success.

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Touche, Geezer. Good catch.
But looking at UO's website, they have it listed as a regular season game too:
http://www.goducks.com/SportSchedule.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&SPID=237
At this point (pardon the pun) if it looks like a duck, talks like a duck... pretty sure this it's the regular season opener.

By the way, if memory serves me correctly, Kyle Stonehouse is white. Your picture looks more like Pooh Jeter.

Isn't it amazing how the posting volume increases exponentially this time of year. It would seem that Pilot Fans, like bears hibernate for the winter... Purple Geezer is more like the Yeti of Pilot Fans!

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Of course Kyle Stonehouse was white. He is/was the Great White Hope of Pilot Basketball. Well, he and Luke Palumbus. I mean... my boy Stonehouse has to own the UP (and maybe even the WCC) record for most fouls per minute. Even more than Zach Gourde. (Remember Gourde's stat line that one game? Was it 5 fouls in three minutes? That was Stonehouse-esque for sure.)
I guess I probably should change my pic at some point...

Re: Upcoming Season per the Trib
Probably not...
I've learned over the years NEVER to count my chickens, ever, for anything, anyone, any time, any how. Been burned so many times none of the local hospitals will even allow me in their ER's because they know the bill just somehow ain't gonna get paid.
