Kelsey Davis Blog on NCAA.com
Kelsey will be doing a weekly blog on NCAA.com, and her first one is up now. Check it out:
http://blogs.ncaa.com/kelsey_davis/
Cool to hear that all the players had family in town for the big weekend and that they had a huge potluck... that sounds pretty great!

Nice to see upperclassmen bonding with the new players. Says a lot about the community aspect of the team.

Kelsey is a much better writer than 99% of professional players who majored in "communications" from some OTHER big time soccer school. Not naming any names.

Re: Kelsey Davis Blog on NCAA.com
Totally agreed.... And from that OTHER blog...
"Most of us agree that the Aggie Soccer Stadium is one of the coolest environments to play in (Tobs, our gold-medalist who arrived in Chapel Hill from Beijing on Monday, might beg to differ). A&M fans are probably the closest thing women's soccer has to Duke's "Cameron Crazies"- their coordinated cheers, constant screaming, and energy in general are amazing."
They obviously haven't been to Merlo lately....

Re: Kelsey Davis Blog on NCAA.com
This may be piling on but College Station is just what it sounds like. A little pit stop of a town that is built around A&M. Just try to get a reservation a decent hotel. Good luck, most are of the kick down your door from the parking lot style where you can play your car radio and listen to in your room with the window open of course because the air conditioner "is broke".
If you think you are in died and gone to h*ll city drive around and notice all the stuff named Bush. To compare that "city" with Portland or the A&M fans with Merlo fans is like comparing a Texas cow chip to Beluga Caviar.
I've been to both and you know exactly where you are when you hear one of the so called soccer fans yell to his kicked in the helmet buddy "look we were "offsides". [rant off\]

BUMP. New posting:

Kelsey is hilarious... though it also sounds like Jessica Tsao was sitting out of a running drill. Hope she's OK for tomorrow's game!

First off - Geezer - I assumed you already were in therapy.
Secondly - Stonehouse - can you let the rest of us in on what Boogie means? Or, can you whisper it in my ear?

Coooool Phantom.
But what does Boogie have to do with Lauren? (Kelsey made it sound as if that is Lauren's nickname).

I would bet that when they play the Micheal Jackson soundtracks as part of the pre-game ritual...Lauren is the best at "busting a move" and "Boogeying her butt off!! Our assistant coach must have some hidden talents on the dance floor too?

Re: Kelsey Davis Blog on NCAA.com
Great report from Kelsi, especially about PSU's soccer field's poor drainage. Once again a reminder of what a great facility we have here. No doubt a facility worthy of two U20 games against Canada!
Boogie Woogie
I know what "Boogie" means as far the boogie dance moves. That evolved from "Boogie Woogie" years ago. I'm sure even Geezer knows what that means. (Unless there is a new-fangled meaning I'm just too old to be hip to).
And then there is the "boogey man", that scary monster that scared the devil out of us all as young children.
So since I don't believe I'm getting anywhere with my questions on this thread, I'm going to assume that Lauren got the nickname "Boogie" 'cause she can "boogie down" on the dance floor. ("Get down and Boogie!!!")

There is always an interesting and usually funny story behind nick names. Someday one of us will get it out of one of the players.

Re: Kelsey Davis Blog on NCAA.com
I guess that means no one knows why Kelsey referred to Lauren as "Boogie". Or, someone knows, but is not saying publicly.
Rambling on: Kelsey referred to Garrett weeks ago as a ferret. I thought Megan R. was going to sing her song, "Garrett The Ferrett" for us. Anyone know what happened with that?
Although Kelsey's blog is great, I'm starting to feel this thread is just a big, black hole...
(Or perhaps FANatic is just in a big, black hole...)

CAN I QUIT NOW?

Re: Kelsey Davis Blog on NCAA.com
I am guessing pickle juice works because it contains mega sodium for long shelf life. Athletes have been taking salt pills for years for cramps. Credit to Sara for a tasty way to get her salt. Did I say tasty? I'm the guy who takes his mini pickles of his hamburgers.

Kelsey is a great writer, funny and a good interviewer.
Wonder if she is majoring in English or writing of some sort?
