For all you song writers out there...
Have your lyrics sung
I can't believe this opportunity. Michelle Enyeart promises in this podcast to sing a song written by Pilot fans.
A golden opportunity for someone...

I think an acoustic remix could be nice.... Maybe even ringtone worthy....

Oh yes, definitely ringtone worthy! Seriously, when you sent me the fight song ring tone... it changed my life. I'm listening to it right now... brings a tear to the eye.

Whoa boys I just listened to the broadcast and she said she would sing a song if the lyrics were provided. I am not sure she meant she would sing something new. That being said I think the fight song would definately be a possibility.

Re: For all you song writers out there...
Ok ill go first:
Pilots, Pilots shining bright
In the shadow of Merlo’s lights
Your offense is like a wrecking ball
The defense is tight
But still we haven’t made the NCAA’s night
Our critics fall and our fans grow legion
But still we remain number 3 in our region.
Garrett is non-plussed and for good reason
We’ve already scored 26 times this season
The shut outs are stretched so far four in all
Our goalkeeper is lonely and threatens to buy her own ball
What the header? what the pain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What free kick?
Dare its woesome opponents prick?
Come November some of us will miss the playoffs
And other teams our loss will mock
Until our freshmen step up and clean their clocks.
Pilots, Pilots shining bright
In the shadow of Merlo’s lights
Your offense is like a wrecking ball
The defense is tight
So Pilots hold your glasses up in good cheer
If for nothing else, celebrate Kasey Keller is here

AutoPilot, that is fantastic. Suggest changing the last line to read:
'Cause now and forever, the spirit of Clive is here!

Re: For all you song writers out there...
Good Suggestion. Consider it changed. Kudos to William Blake's Tiger poem BTW. Lets say I would get kicked out of UP if I didn't own up to that.

Re: For all you song writers out there...
Amateurs, take a seat and let Emmylou Harris provide the lyrics, in "Born to Run":
Well I never did crawl and I never did toe that line
No man is a master to me I ain't that kind
I just put on my traveling shoes
If you wanna win you just can't lose the time
Or stay behind
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
Well I take the chances sometimes I've made mistakes
But you don't get nothing unless you take the breaks
Living as dangerous as dynamite
Sure makes you feel nervous but it makes you feel alright
Makes you feel alright
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
Nobody's gonna make me do things their way
By the time you figure it out it's yesterday
Well it comes to he who waits I'm told
But I don't need it when I'm old and gray
Yea I want it today
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
If all the verses are too long, I'd settle for hearing the chorus, which sounds as if it was written as Enyeart's battle cry:
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
Well I never did crawl and I never did toe that line
No man is a master to me I ain't that kind

There 's always the Queen classic -- something about "We are the champions of the world" -- that Enyeart can sing with feeling after the U-20 tourney.

Ahh yes..
I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
-
I thank you all -
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose -
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -

Re: For all you song writers out there...
A classic from the old country. My father, who appeared to loathe all rock and pop music when I was growing up, amazed me years later by admitting to liking Freddy Mercury and Queen.
Gobsmacked!
A great song and I'd love to see Elli, Michelle and Keelin sing it after a successful foray on the international front.

He probably liked Freddies tip of the hat to the Barber of Seville (Figaro).
