Can You Name This Song?
The song is the one at the end of this video that plays during the highlights of the Detroit-Marquette game. I used Shazzam on my phone, but it couldn't recognize it. My eternal gratitude to anyone who can name the song.
Also, Dick Vitale: what a class act!

Re: Can You Name This Song?
Sorry, A_U I don’t know the music, but thanks for sharing that video.
1. When Dick Vitale is doing a game I honestly have to mute it because I find him so annoying.
2. The video gave me a whole different perspective of Vitale…I probably knew was a coach (I was out of the country 1973-1983), but I had no idea he could dance!....
3. I can’t wait (literally) to see a similar scene in the Chiles Center with Rev dancing with delight with the cheerleaders instead in frustration with the referees.
4. I gotta say, the music was good….it made the video!!

Re: Can You Name This Song?
PS: A_U, surely (Shirley?) you didn't go looking for the Vitale Tribute video, how did you end up with it, and what brought on your question about the music?
I find it a great relief from all the frustration over UP Basketball at the moment….and a target for the team to shoot for too.
If you need to know the music for school credit, I'm sure Geez can find the answer.

Nah. It's not of that. It was just looking up clips of him. He is one of my favorite TV personalities (another favorite is Doc Emrick from hockey). Stumbled across this one and really liked the song.
I saw another video about Vitale's family life: he is quite the family I must say. He made a call during the halftime of a Duke game he was calling to call home and ask how is grandchildren were doing in their sports that day.
Anyway, in regards to the song... It sounds like a remixed version of some older symphonic song. Perhaps if someone can pin down the older song I could find it but I am no expert in that field of music (or music in general).

We've been told that students only study and sleep at the academically difficult UP; no time for anything else, including basketball at the Chiles Center.
Many of us who graduated from UP 100 years ago only remember the fraternity parties (beer and girls) and basketball....studying came later at graduate school.
I doubt many of us would have made it to graduation if we spent our time surfing the www too.

Re: Can You Name This Song?
Now it's starting to bug me. first I thought it might be something from Carl Orff (Tanz from Carmina Burana )
not close, apparently I have a poor memory for tunes.
but you know what it sounds like? something Cirque de Soleil would do for its acts. same types of repetition and drum patterns.
listen to the last minute or so of this and see if you don't agree. (the first part- not so much)
that isn't it, but it sure sounds like it's from the same genre. you just have to work your way through a gajillion clips to find it.
