Rutgers game
Hi, all. I'm not able to access the live stats Gametracker, so if anyone can offer some in-game updates or comments vs. Rutgers today, I would love it. Thanks, and go Pilots!

purple haze - We'll get you some in-game updates and comments vs. Rutgers today, I promise.
You might also check the Chatbox. Hopefully some folks will be gathering there today as we all stare at our GameTrackers. Maybe someone will have even bought the video and can comment directly on the match.

Re: Rutgers game
2:30? What? Not cool!
Hello from the lovely New Brunswick, NJ free public library anyway. Seems the Pilots brought the Portland weather with them. It's drizzling and cool right now. I hope Auto Pilot is mistaken somehow and the game is still at the scheduled time or I just wasted a few hours of my life, not to mention roughly $20 in toll fees.
I can micro-blog the game from my cell, but I'd rather not give out my account to the intarwebs at large...

Re: Rutgers game
I suspect the 2:30 is Pacific time - 5:30 out there.

Re: Rutgers game
Yes 5:30pm their time but I think ninja was expecting a game at 11:30 am their time. Thats a six hour wait in the NJ public library in the rain. Ninja check out a book and learn to code Java. Should be something interesting to do in NJ and stay dry.

Re: Rutgers game
purple haze - 0-0 at the half. Pilots dominating possession. Megan came out like a rocket..Keelin dominating.
Pilots ahead 6-2 in shots. Apparently defensive battle with Rutgers being a big, physical team.

Re: Rutgers game
Pilots win, 1-0. Rutgers had a close call on a header in the 77th minute or so. That was their only close attempt, I believe.
Rutgers had to make only 2 saves. Kelsey had to make none!
Believe it was a tough, defensive, physical battle. But we got a goal, a shutout and a W!
Web Smiley is an actual drawing of a Rutgers player. They do look tough, don't they?

Re: Rutgers game
Apparently the goal was scored by Jackman, first career goal, what kind of nickle and dime operation is Rutgers running over there?

Re: Rutgers game
Quote from a member of the Pilot Team "it was an ugly game...they played like a rugby team" So it appears we were not far off in our expectations of Rutgers. So happy for Sara to get her first goal. Lets hope she goes on a run off the bench. Grats to the Pilot D on another superior defensive effort. No shots on frame.

Re: Rutgers game
Hi All,
I just got back from my game and let me tell you it was a tough and wet match. the field was extremely slick amd there was about 100 fans in the stands. It's my first game in person so i was so excited seeing the pilots playing in front of me:) Lots of fouls that were not called against Rugters. I was impressed with Megan Rapinoe and Sophie schmidt. Also of the 100 fans there we had about 10 pilots fans seating in the same section and i was so excited to sit next to #19 Janella Jacka dad. He was awesome. Made me feel very welcome . I also noticed the head coach of the WPS league NJ team seating behind me. He was taking lots of notes. I'm assuming he was there to see Megan Rapinoe play. I took several pictures which i will probably download later.

Re: Rutgers game
Back from the game. It wasn't the best game I've seen, but it's the best Pilots game I've seen in person. I might have more to say tomorrow, but for now:
I probably messed up on who got the YC and the goal, mostly because it was raining and there was water all over my glasses. But even considering the conditions, I think the Pilots did well against a scrappy Rutgers team. I really liked Megan R. and Keelin's effort, but you could tell that the Pilots were obviously missing the engines that are Michelle Enyeart and Elli Reed.
BTW, "biff" is either falling down in an embarrassing manner or totally missing the ball and falling down in an embarrassing manner. Rutgers wasn't the sharpest I've seen. They kept passing the ball to Michelle. Maybe because her hair was so nice?
Kelsey didn't have a lot to do, but came up when she was needed and was... vocal, to say the least.
The atmosphere was, as the kids say, "Meh." Very few fans, but I was greeted by someone from Portland at the gate (got there quite a bit early) and he was extremely personable. I don't know if he reads the board, but I would like to thank him for his friendliness.

Here is the Rutgers take on the game. It appears we stole the game and they would have won if the weather had been better. ha
