Classic Late 70's/80's Movies
Inspired by DaTruRochin's brilliant reference of the Thunderdome in the JP Morgan/Financial Crisis thread of all places... let's have it. Best movies of the late 70's/80's.
I'll start it off... can't go wrong with Mad Max:
And you DEFINITELY can't go wrong with The Warriors, one of my all-time favorites:
Speaking of The Warriors, I swear I've seen his clip get knocked off by a few different commercials recently... a McDonald's commercial I think that involved old classic Coke bottles and an MTV promo too. Just bizarre, but wonderful:

Patton. I have this vision of Dick Nixon in the situation room getting drunk watching it.

Apocolypse now?
"I love the smell of napalm in the Morning"
Almost forgot Young Frankenstein
Dr. Strangelove came a bit earlier but equally classic.

Some people may disagree, but I think Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is one of the most hilarious movies ever...

Re: Classic Late 70's/80's Movies
How about Clash of the Titans? I LOVED this movie as a kid:
I heard that they are re-making this and it will be released next year. Not sure how I feel about that... if done right in the spirit of the cheesy camp of the original, it could be stellar. But done like a remake of '300' or whatever, it will be really lame. So I don't know...

This one may not be the most famous, but I love Stripes. Bill Murray and Harold Ramis decide to join the Army and comedy gold ensues. My dad and I still quote from it all the time.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the Original Star Wars Trilogy or Indiana Jones . . . How about Caddyshack? Or Ghostbusters? Or. . . There's a whole bunch I can name.

Oh I feel ya, SciFi. I guess in my mind I was thinking of the lesser-known ones.
But if you're just talking straight up, there's no better 80's movie than the original Die Hard.

Well since my Thunderdome comment started this madness, and campy movies is the genre.... I'll take movies starring David Carradeine and Sly Stallone for $1000 Alex...
