3rd Round

Any of you insiders know what day we'll host the 3rd round match?

According to an email sent out by UP Marketing

3rd ROUND: Saturday, Nov. 22 – 7:00pm

4th ROUND: Friday, Nov. 28 – 7:00pm

Of course 4th round would be contingent on us being the top seed remaining in our bracket.

I would have guessed those as well looking at the basketball schedules. But--one game at a time, starting with Texas tomorrow.

I'm with you PH! I will definitely do that! I truely believe Megan is key to how far we go! But...I'm also putting my half of my trust with her running mate...Sophie Schmidt!!! She's "quietly?" elevated her game and is shouldering a lot for this team! That header she put in from Megan was a world class finish! Wow!

An interesting matchup will be Stephany Logterman and Megan R.
Logterman was on National teams with Steph Lopez and looked really good 1v1 last night, though admittedly against lesser talent than Megan.

I was also surprised she wasn't more involved in the offense.

SL is a great player although I can't see anyone matching Megan's energy. If I were the coach I would't waste my best player banging with Megan I might put someone out there with some speed and physicality just to try and distrupt what she does.

I'll be your wingman, GUPhantom, in your praise of Sophie. This season she has broken away from the pack in a huge way. Last season she was a reluctant striker; this year she has turned it on. Scoring goals at this level is hard -- yet she does it game after game.

I could have added Sophie and Kelsey into the "higher power" statement. I'm nondenominational in terms of your object of worship.

Also, I was pretty shocked that NAU let Megan R. run free and unmarked on too many occasions, such as her goal-scoring run. Then again, not even the teams that have put a strong, physical, talented mark on her the whole game have taken her out of her game lately. She just shoulders the mark aside and charges on. Scoring and winning is the best revenge against any designated defender.
