Note of caution Empty Note of caution

The results from last night are a timely reminder of why the "one game at a time" mantra is so important. Both Notre Dame and Stanford only won narrowly (1-0) against teams that we would expect them to beat more comfortably. OK, I know Rutgers had their moments this season but they were on the road after two close games. Unfortunately for Pilots chances of progress, if they win tonight, both of the #1s made it through. I was really hoping for a Rutgers upset and one more game at Merlo this season but it was not to be.

I'm sure Garrett and the team will use the scores from last night as a reminder of why they cannot take JMU lightly. Here's hoping for a strong display from the Pilots and a couple of early goals to settle our nerves!

I'd like to see a Rapinoe free kick from about 20-25 yards out, and a Korie header from a corner.

I'd like to see an early goal, within the first 20 minutes. Sophie's on a goal scoring rampage, but I think Dani is due for a couple goals here and there.

The main thing is great team "D", with no glaring mistakes. Kassi seems to have settled in as our backline anchor, but we need defense from all ten field players.

Great defense from our attackers could mean the difference between a very good season, and a national championship season. I'm old!

The evening fog lifts from Merlo, replaced by the mornings dew.

decrink, my boy. You picked a quote of mine out of context. Let's gives the folks another look and they can make their own conclusions whether or not I actually "caused" JMU's early goal.

You mentioned Rutgers losing 1-nil to Stanford. My officemate let me know that Rutgers deserves some props for making it to the 3rd round this year. This is better than they did during any of the years when Carli Lloyd was a standout forward for the Scarlet Knights (2001-2005).
