UP VS Texas A&M
This thread is inevitable, so I'll go ahead and create it. Glad to see it appears we have a video feed for this week.

Make sure to note the game time
For most of the fall, TAMU had the game listed at 5:00 CT. That's also the time UP had the game listed on its website, though they didn't list the time zone. I and others kept speculating it was to schedule the game in the heat, though with the weather we've had, I didn't see any advantage.
Now the game is listed on the TAMU schedule as being at 7:00 CT, which makes it 5:00 Pacific, so if you want to watch the game on line, make sure you start at the right time. The video feeds are usually free from TAMU, and pretty good quality.
http://www.aggieathletics.com/sports/w-soccer/sched/tam-w-soccer-sched.html
There will be a link below the gametracker link on the right
You will need Microsoft's Silverlight Pluggin for your browser, and I think you need to register with CBS College Sports All Access, but it doesn't cost anything. so try it a bit early if you haven't done all that so you are ready when the game starts.

Re: UP VS Texas A&M
Thanks for the guidance, Geezaldinho. Silverlight is a really great tool for watching streaming video on the Web. It's going to be used to power the NBC site for the Winter Olympics, BTW. Though I had heard that Poopdeck Pappy might be in Texas for both the weeked road games, it turns out he is biding his time to follow the Pilots South when it really matters, at the College Cup. If anyone else can send eyewitness reports from deep in the heart of Texas, we'd be most obliged.

Here's the difference between TAMU and Portland.
So- if they win they get to yell for the football team?
wow. better than America's most Talented.
The goal for the game? Keep them from attending the yell practice for the next day's football game that night.

Wear your Aggie Ring and receive free admission to the match.
Hmmm, how many fans pay for regular tickets?! (I know we have discussed this here previously; just a rhetorical question).
Note the free video link, in the page Geez linked.
Lets show the Aggies what Pilot soccer is all about.

I'm going to predict that Tx A&M will key on our "known commodities" and leave Kendra to do some damage tonight.

Kendra impressed the hell out of me when I was out there last weekend. You could be right, Aleppiek.

Yep, clearly got his mother's looks. Kendra is rounding back into pre-injury form... she could be primed to pump some into the back of the net.

Re: UP VS Texas A&M
Another take on the game: weather.
According to weather.com, the temperature during the game should be in the low 80's, with humdity around 65%. The somewhat high humidity will make feel like mid-to-upper eighties in Portland.
The A&M players are used to this weather, but it's a bit warm for us. However, a lot better than it might be this time of the year in Texas.
I remember several years ago when the team had an early road trip to Florida. The heat/humidity was awful. My memory is that we came away with a tie and a loss to Florida and Florida State.

Re: UP VS Texas A&M
The illinois and Cal Games were both in the low 80's at kickpff, and UP practiced in that temperature a lot this summer. One week it was well over 100ยบ and they did fine.
That won't be a problem
I'm a little worried the short grass they have will make the ball run and throw timing off, but that's it.
I think TAMU has more to worry about than we do.

Re: UP VS Texas A&M
Hey everyone, just a heads-up about this game... Adam Linnman from UP will be on-site and doing the radio play-by-play, which will be available for free from PortlandPilots.com
Probably won't be in sync with the video from A&M, but since the commentary is usually lacking and sometimes it's tough to make out what's going on in a game on the web feeds, I would highly recommend people to tune in to Adam's broadcast. You can get it here:

Live video from portlandpilots.com
All,
The writeup on the game states:
"Links for live stats and live video for both matches will also be available at portlandpilots.com." However, when I go to the web site, it says there are no games scheduled. Am I missing something?

Select "Womens Soccer" under the "Schedules" tab from the portlandpilots.com home page... on the schedule, on the Texas A&M line, click on "Details" which opens up the links to the various media...

Is anyone watching the video stream right now? I feel like I'm watching the opening act of a horror movie with 12th Man Casey and the student section. Why are they bending over like that? WHY? WHY????

Re: UP VS Texas A&M
Hey fans... all the action is in the chatroom, in case you are wondering where the posts are.
A&M is up 2-0 at the half. We are playing very poorly, especially on the back line. Gotta clean things up and regroup. A&M's speed is bothering us and they are playing very aggressive defense.
First goal was very suspect... header off a corner that hit the bottom of the crossbar and bounced straight down. Davis snagged the bounce, but then the refs paused the game and met for a minute before allowing the goal. There was no signal until that point. Very shady. Garrett has apparantly been giving the sideline official an earful ever since the goal. They also allowed a sub right before the corner kick, which is (I'm quite sure) against the rules.
Second goal came on a 1v1... Hooper of A&M just blew past the Pilot defense - it was Enyeart-esque. Kelsey had a diving chance but couldn't quite stop it.
Overall, really just a miserable first half.

So I'm seeing that there are 38 visitors here... the registered users are all in the chat room, but I will try to post some stuff on the main board to keep you all updated.
I highly recommend watching the A&M video - it's free and the production value is terrific. Really, really well done.
Also you can listen to audio from Adam Linnman of UP at PortlandPilots.com
