Pilots hold on at UC Davis 75 - 72
The Aggies made a furious comeback to cut our lead from 14 points to 1, but the Pilots hold on for the win on the road.
TJ Campbell: 20 pts, Stohl: 17 pts, Raivio 15 pts.
Sikma was a monster on the glass, with 3 Offensive boards in a row at one point...
Still plagued by turnovers (which fueled the Davis run), but held on....

UC Davis is now 1-3, with their win being over LMU...

Well the good news for us is that this Pilot team is hanging tough at the ends of close games instead of fading.

Probably not at 1-3, but, winning close games is good experience for our guys all the same.

they are better than that 1-3 record. they're biggest lost is by 9 to Arkansas with steele back. They have also lost to UW-Milwaukee and Iowa state by 3. all of those were on the road. they are young and are looking to compete in the Big West. Not nearly as good as Washington or Nevada, but not terrible either.

Re: Pilots hold on at UC Davis 75 - 72
After reading what PP13 posted I am just glad the Pilots got out of the Pavilion with a win. UC-Davis was a good (not great) team , they beat Loyala Marymount, Lost to a BIG-TWELVE TEAM (Iowa State) by 3 at Iowa State. That show's some ability. I believe it was a nice win, the players needed to get that first win in a HOSTILE enviroment to get back to the Chiles with their winning way's intact.
Nevada is probably a toss'up with PSU as being our toughest preseason game. Aren't they ranked in the top 25 in country. WOW!!! The team will have to be running on all cylinders with TJ ,Nik,Robin,Ethan, and Kramer all playing great games and Stohl providing the spark off the bench .
Luke,Jason,Tashi,BJ are going to have to step up off the bench and give good rest to those 6 when they need it too.
Can't wait, PP13 it's to bad to hear you can't rustle up more students, but it being the Holidays I'll give you a pass Hach,ha--- That means there are plenty of seats for the rest of you gentlemen.Pls attend, the team needs you .

It's the young alumni game...should be a few of them to augment the students.

But I'll have to miss the end of the Civil War. And one with a Rose Bowl on the line.

I could care less about the Civil War--didn't even watch "The Big Game" and I'm a Californian. That's all the sports shows were talking about yesterday. Not a word about Pilot soccer OR basketball (both basketball teams won Sunday).

Of course you didn't--I already know you can't stand Stanford or Cal.

Re: Pilots hold on at UC Davis 75 - 72
Nevada is really good. they had an awesome recruiting class, and they would be even better if JaVale McGee didn't skip out for the NBA, where he is tearing it up on that pitiful wizards team. if you look where they have finished in RPI over the past 5 years its impressive. 29-32-19-23-73, looks like coach fox is starting something down there. it will definetly be a tough game for us. but hopefully we can shoot lights out again, and play some lock down defense. To be honest we've probably seen the best player we will see this year in Brockman, luckily for us, his team didn't show up. now its just playing good defense, and we must eliminate turnovers.

Yeah, I just figured out that conflict. Hopefully my team will be so far ahead I can safely leave for the Pilot game. Any chance there'll be a TV in the pre-game dinner location?

Speaking of TV's, it would be REALLY cool if they would move the big screen projection TV to the new Pilot Club space...
I have to say that moving the PC upstairs is a HUGE improvement; so much more space to move around, easier to get to the snacks, etc. Oh, and now *2* beer varieties to choose from!!
