Yeah!! Im leaving nice an early so I can make that. I am just wondering how many seats there are in the stadium and how many people will have to stand the whole game?

Good question about the seats, Auto.
From Stanford's website:
http://gostanford.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/112408aab.html
From Stanford's website:
All seats are general admission and the first 1,500 fans to arrive will have access to seating, while any late arriving fans will be directed to standing room only. Be advised that purchasing a ticket in advance guarantees you admittance to the facility but does not guarantee you a seat. Prices are $8 for adults, and $5 for students, youth, and seniors.

Re: For Those Going to the Game at Stanford
Note that their attendance for the quarterfinals and second round were both above 2000, so if there really are only 1500 seats then there were lots of folks standing. The "info sheet" on their Web site lists that capacity at 2000.
The holiday might reduce attendance somewhat, but I doubt it. Stanford's student body comes from across the country, so there will be more students remaining on campus than at most schools.

BTW the real scoop on the Fan Fest is that Beverages as you generically described includes Beer and Wine. I put a special request for Pliny the Elder and a nice smoother Merlo.

What are the odds for a Kettle Corn stand at Stanford? Zero to none, I say. How many programs can proclaim they also have a full time Kettle corn stand? Not many I betcha! Trenchcoat

Re: For Those Going to the Game at Stanford
Too bad Merlo couldn't have bought out all the tics and then only give them to Pilots fans. That would be funny to have a near empty Stanford stadium except for a rabid bundle of Pilotos singing "Pilots, score a goal, Pilots score a goal,
score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,
score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,score a goal,

Re: For Those Going to the Game at Stanford
I remember 2002 when I went on a whim. It was Thanksgiving weekend and I drove up from my parents' to Palo Alto. Wasn't expecting as many Pilot fans as were there...no doubt they'll all be back yet agin.
Wasn't any Kettle Corn then, though, trenchcoat.

And deprive me of another chance to irritate home fans while the pilots are on the road? Well I hope we make a splash I now of a dozen of the Faithful who are making the pilgrimage. So there are probably many many more. I really hope Villa sends someone with the flag. And I also hope that he gets tired running up and down the touch line.

Flag? Maybe not. Drums? I think so. Stanford is sure to "confiscate" the drums, too.Auto Pilot wrote:I really hope Villa sends someone with the flag. And I also hope that he gets tired running up and down the touch line.

TW, just for you I am going to the concession and order kettle corn. When they tell me they don't have it I will act really surprised and indignant. I might just say "Carl is going to hear from me about this."
