Updated WCC Standings after all Saturday games Jan 31st

Portland 6-1
St. Marys 5-2
San Diego 4-3
Santa Clara 3-4
Pepperdine 2-5
USF 1-6
LMU 0-7

We are at the half way point of the WCC regular season. Portland is in sole possession of second place! Who would have known this team would jell this quickly when most of us thought next year would be THE year?

We've talked about the importance of being in the top four, but I think we are beyond that discussion. Now, we're realistically looking at second place. The difference between 3rd-4th and 5th is not having to play until Saturday in the WCC tournament. But the difference between finishing 2nd and finishing 3rd is HUGE - not having to play until Sunday - basically a double bye. Win on Sunday, and you're in the Monday night championship game.

UP is in the driver's seat folks... or should I say the pilot's seat? The Pilots control their own destiny from here on out as we enter the second half of the WCC race.
