St Mary's vs Gonzaga
Hahahahaha Omar Samhan just got a technical foul for dunking during warmups... I mean I'm all for the Gaels tonight, but Omar... Come on... Between this and the whole Facebook messaging debacle, the kid obviously has attitude issues... (That said a couple hundred Zags message me on facebook, I would probably do the same thing...)

Re: St Mary's vs Gonzaga
So basically on Facebook you can "poke" other people, which just sends them a little message saying they've been poked an whatnot... There are groups of kids who "Poke the other teams Stud" player before each game, basically annoying the hell out of them with pokes and messages before a game... Omar responded with this to a few of the GU pokers:
Crude, yes. Childish, probably. Hillarious, DEFINITELY.
That said, Facebook has features so you can't be messaged or searched by people not from your "network" or school... Hahaha I suggest Omar looked into that...
"Just remember that you have to wake up, eat, and sleep, everyday in the worst f@#king part of our country. Spokane f@#king washington, whatever inspired you to go to that school honestly makes you a terrible person, your gym sucks, your chicks are ugly, and worst of all you have to live in spokane.
suck one"

Re: St Mary's vs Gonzaga
Well that was like losing twice; once last night when the Pilots lost, and again tonight when our temporary favorite non-Pilot WCC team lost to the 'mighty Bulldogs'. , but not .

Re: St Mary's vs Gonzaga
Yeah... Patty Mills came back too soon, he can still dribble, but his shot was definitely affected. Unfortunately it's his speed and dribbling that got TJ in foul trouble last night... but for SMC to beat GU, Mills has to be hitting his shot. Oh well, I hope they have fun playing the Eastern Eagles...

Re: St Mary's vs Gonzaga
BTW the saddest part about the tech inducing warm up dunk.... The fact that the dunk actually rolled around the rim before it went through. If that wasn't a sign of bad things to come in that game, I don't know what was...

Re: St Mary's vs Gonzaga
Did anyone watching the game hear that SMC's RPI went up 10 spots to 45 after they beat us? At least a win over UP means more than it used to... Of course, SMC probably will go down after their EWU game...win or lose. I guess that game is just a tune up for the post season if SMC continues... One more game for Mills to try to get rid of the rust.

Yeah, I heard that. Interesting. What's our final RPI? Do RPI calculations end with the start of the tournament?
But RPI aside, 19 wins! That means that Rev's plan for improvement requires we get 20+ next year. I'm already looking forward to it.
With the team making a summer trip to Down Under, does anyone have stats about how teams which takes these periodic trips fare in the regular season; better or worse than anticipated? Seems I recall a Pilot team a few years ago that had some success and attributed to the off-season trip (Puerto Rico?).

Oh and I just watched the replay of the warmup dunk... it was most definitely Libbey watching it at half court, and putting a whistle to his mouth directly afterward... Shocking

Unless injuries become a factor, teams almost always do better when try can do an overseas trip. It gives then a real advantage early in the season because of the extra practice and games.

Those rims at The Orleans Arena were extremely soft... the number of balls that rolled around the rim or bounced softly up and then in was amazing... Overall, a great venue of the tourney though.

That and the center logo was slippery... But both easy kinks that could be worked out if they host the tourney again (I hope they do so I can make up for not going this year)

Re: St Mary's vs Gonzaga
Was that drunk or dunk. From what I've heard there was a little of both going on up there, lol.
They were some soft rim's though, how about Nik's first shot that seemed to get the best bounce of any Pilot shot all season at the start of the Gael's ( ) game.

I don't know that I would have responded the way Omar did, but he clearly has had the pleasure of visting Spokane.
"You live in Spo-kane!"
I would, however, say that Pullman makes a strong case since I checked a map and there is literally no direct way to get there from anywhere.

Every spokie I've talked to said it was a good place to grow up... Haha, but when I ask why they don't live there anymore then kind of laugh and say, well... you know...

I still enjoy it! Portland is nice, but I could do without as much rain. I enjoy the 4 seasons in Spokane.
