A new seasonal favorite, but pretty much a given since I am a fan of crisp ambers and Bavarians:

Had myself a six pack last week, yummy, and a sample at the Great Lakes Brewfest, ask Rochin54 how wonderful that event was.

Judging by the text and voicemail messages, I believe the Great Lakes Brew festival was fantastic. I am no doubt jealous of the brews Mattywizz was able to sample there....although I'm not so sure he more "vigorously consumed" than "sampled."

Re: List your top 5-10 favorite beers here...
Nut, I heard a rumor that Widmer is having dock sales of the Okto. $13/case minimum 3 cases I believe. If you enjoy it enough that could be a great deal.
Anyone else hear about Life & Limb, the collaboration with Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada?? I am very much looking forward to it, but don't know if it will make it to the middle of the country. Sounds like it releases in October/November. I'm guessing the November is pretty accurate. Most of the beer is going to stay NoCal or be shipped to Delaware, NY or Penn (brewed at SN). So if anyone wants to make a quick buck and I can't get it out here at my glorious beer store where I bought the Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale I am "sipping" right now...keep your eyes open.
The label should look something like this...

Thanks for the heads up; I saw the dock sale, too... I think it was $14, minimum 4 cases. A deal, for sure... I may have to swing by on my way to campus on Friday. I dont know how long Okto will be available...

Re: List your top 5-10 favorite beers here...
OK so most of you probably know this already, but the Brrr is back!
This really is a VERY delicious red. Really smooth, and when you look at the label you will be surprised when read it is 7.2% because it does not taste like a beer on that ABV level. A fine way to warm up during the winter months!

I'll bet you could get someone to smuggle some up to you this weekend. Can you fit a 12 pack in your luggage?

Re: List your top 5-10 favorite beers here...
Bud (Beer) with a Komakaze or Jack Daniels backing it up, I am not one for the strong beer but I did buy Basketballhead a big,big mug that he could'nt finish. It was in that local downtown/Pub in Portland (name escapes me, the one we saw coach Joel at after Pepperdine game).
I knew it was pretty strong if Basketballhead couldn't down it all. He will be ready to drink with you all with his UFC MMA buddy like last year. I smell a rear naked choke for Basketballhead from his UFC buddy by the end of tourney, lol
PS-Basketballhead said Micky McConnell from St Marys will be a major heckling target this year being that Kramer,Mickey, and Basketballhead are all Mesa boys.
