Re: Men's XC Training Video
Our XC team will make a good run at nationals this year. It seems that they are just warming up though, based on the young talent they have. Expect great things from these guys over the next few years and, knowing Coach Conner, well beyond.

Re: Men's XC Training Video
Lookin Good are the Young Men! Shipstad I think they flashed on the screen in the earlier stages of the video that it was just a "warmup" for the young men. Wow , even in the best stages of my career before I started playing more BB then running I would have been bringing up the rear I can tell from the Video.
It's nice to have these Videos because our family doesn't live in Portland. I know Kramers G-Parents and I appreciate them when his Mother passes word along about their appearence along to G-pa and G-Pa. I bet the freshman kid's ( Trevor, etc) parents appreciate them because being Of the DISTANCE (ALASKA) from the meets , etc. It's hard after not being able to see everyone of his games after I saw many of the Home games and others in HS to only be able to get to the Chiles once a year.I don't think his Grandparents missed hardly a one as they were always there for him every swim meet, baseball game, football game,BB game alongside his Mom and Dad.
Say Hi from me to him. That will get a look of shock, bewilderment, ?'s how you know me and good laugh out of him. I guarantee that. Tell him I'm still planning for the LMT ,Pepperdine games in Feb.
Sorry for Hijacking the X-C thread a little,

Re: Men's XC Training Video
Looks like Osoro and Dunbar will redshirt, for the time being.

I don't like to be the guy who talks about "next year," but.......we're going to be so loaded, next year.

Re: Men's XC Training Video
I was very excited to see that those two guys went 1-2 at the Pier Park race. They are incredibly talented and over the course of the next 5 years they are going to blossom into unbelievable runners.
Coldsmoke, do you think that because the ran unattached today that they are very likely to redshirt? Or could it be that Coach Conner doesn't know what he is going to do with them and does not want to rule out that possibility?

That's what I'm thinking. Of course he could always burn it later, but my money is on redshirt. They likely will not redshirt this spring, though.

Re: Men's XC Training Video
It would be a bummer not to see these guys in competitive action and helping the team this fall, but I am 100% confident that coach knows what he is doing and is ultimately helping them as runners and helping the team as a whole. I am excited to see what these guys (and all of the freshman class) can become!

On a somewhat unrelated note: the first USTFCCA coaches poll came out yesterday. The Pilots were ranked 8th in the nation.

Thanks ekrauss!! I expect that we will be climbing those rankings this year
Were there any other West Region teams ahead of us? Oregon?

No kidding. It is good to see him leave! I think we will contend for #1 in the West for many years to come!

Re: Men's XC Training Video
Soon enough Salazar will stop paying attention to Oregon since Rupp won't be there, and then the program will slip.DaTruRochin wrote:Well, at leas we don't have to contend with that Rupp guy anymore...
