Pilots vs. Concordia

Let's get this season rolling!

Pilots vs. Concordia University Cavaliers, Thursday 10/29, 7pm, Chiles Center.

Concordia is a member of the NAIA, and competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (along with Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Warner Pacific and Oregon Tech). CU was picked to come in 9th in the 10-team CCC.

Player of note: Alex Tiefenthaler is starting his 2nd year at CU, after transferring from UP and PSU... Alex was the lone CU player picked on the 15-player CCC pre-season All-Conference team.

I hear that there will be live stats for those of us who are not able to attend.

Also, it looks like there will be audio. I've never had success getting the streaming audio to work. Has anyone else had issues with streaming audio in the past?

I have used the streaming audio for soccer games, and it has worked very well.

I've been waiting for Thursday for a long time! I'm excited to get the season started.

I have a feeling that these games won't be very telling, though. Am I wrong to think that these games will be blowouts that will reveal little of what we ought to expect this year?

I think you are correct. Rev will be trying many rotations, defensive schemes, subbing liberally, etc... I dont think we will know much about the team's true potential until after these 2 games. But, we should get some glimpses...

Oh, but we will find out what snacks and beers are being served in Captain Wally's and the Pilot Club...!

Perhaps these games will be a chance to see the future of Pilot basketball. I will be interested to see how Nem, Eric, and BJ have progressed and to see how Cody looks. Hopefully they will all get good minutes!

After the two exhibition games we jump right into it. EWU beat us last year and we can't take them lightly this year, although it looks like they aren't in serious contention for the Big Sky title.

No, we have just about everything rehearsed, including four new charts. This includes a new player intro. We also moved so we're playing directly at the visiting bench.

It's early but I like the idea of starting Ito and getting his game going, what a plus he would be for the team. He definitely had a tough time last year.

Taishi is a strong defensive guard. If he can rekindle his offense it will add to the depth of an already strong guard-corps!
