Only one unbeaten team in WCC! Empty Only one unbeaten team in WCC!

After 3 games in conference play only one team is 3-0: the Pilots.

San Diego only tied with Pepperdine today; Santa Clara won 2-1 at Loyola, and is 2-1 on the season.

So this week's games against San Diego and then Santa Clara are huge, and we get to be at Merlo to see them!!!!

Beating USF 6-0 on their field is a really good win; USF had won its first two games in the WCC, albeit only against St. Marys and the woeful Zags, but 6-0 on the road in conference is a strong performance.

Interesting to see that Chandhoke started and Enyeart was on the bench; whatever the reason a hattrick is a great tally for Kendra. Good to see Winters, Reed, and Davis back in the starting line up: meaning no disrespect to Jackman, Scifo, and De Young. It simply implies that Garrett has a full squad to choose from, which will be important with two big games this week.

UP website is crediting Chandhoke with 4 goals, which makes some sense because Gametracker said Schmidt had scored but had already reported her as subbed off the field. Sophie is good, but not so good that she can score from the bench!

The box score UP posted just now shows Kendra with 4 goals!!
Things were fishy on gametracker, which credited Sophie with a goal when she wasn't in the game.

A breakout day if I have ever heard of one.

Biggest day in memory for someone not named Sinclair

Garrett is quoted in the story on the UP site as aying that Kendra got some rest on Friday (she did not play) and came out on fire. Sounds like it.

Will be interesting to see who starts upfront on Thursday and Sunday now.

It's a great problem to have and I'm guessing that all 3 of them (Chandhoke, Enyeart, and Schmidt) will see time over the two games.

I'm hoping that this shellacking of USF is the watershed match offensively where we finally get back to the "beautiful game" that the Pilots are known for. It's our signature, now, I believe. But with a new "team" every year it seems to usually, (except 2005), take awhile to integrate the freshmen, get used to the void of departed seniors, and get the team chemistry just right so that we are ready to pounce come the "conference season".

I'm sure we were very frustrated with SMC packing it in and tackling us like the Green Bay Packers. It must have felt like a breath of fresh air to play the game today at USF. (And perhaps the "birth" of a new high roller in Kendra Chandhoke)!

Now back home for two packed, crazy Merlo Field games that could go a long way in deciding the conference championship. Huge Week. Monstrous!!! The blood's in the water. Let's go for the throat...
