LMU - Pepperdine
I notice Pepperdine and Gonzaga are playing this afternoon, and we are playing LMU this evening.
In the past, teams were pretty careful in conference to have the same start times, and I think you needed your next opponent's consent to change it. One time, I think we had to get SCU's consent because we wanted a TV time slot.

Re: LMU - Pepperdine
Since Gonzaga doesn't have lights, I imagine we had the choice of moving to the afternoon or giving Pepperdine a few extra hours of rest. Given that there is a men's game today as well, the afternoon option must have been a bit tempting. It says something about the relative drawing power of the men's and women's teams that the women are in prime time despite the (small) disadvantage in recovery time.

The Zags beat the Waves 1-0 in OT. Winning goal scored very early in the first OT.

Re: LMU - Pepperdine
I watched a good part of the game on line. It looked like Pepperdine ran out of gas as the second half wore on, with Gonzaga controlling the run of play more and more.
Something I noticed was that Gonzaga's coach constantly was yelling instructions to his player -- "Look up the field" "Keep your form" etc, etc. If I were a player on his team, it would drive me nuts.

A micromanaging game coach is a being who has yet to evolve.
