Re: Gonzaga Ranked #3!
It probably doesn't help their cause that one of their "good wins" ( Baylor) is on the bust list and they got beat by another team on the list ( Memphis).
Speaking of which. It might be time to replace your butler reference from your signature

Re: Gonzaga Ranked #3!
Gonzaga didn't play Butler this year. They did beat Baylor which was on the list, and they lost to a total of three teams on that list if I remember, Illinois, Kansas State and Memphis. All of a sudden that brutal non-conference schedule isn't looking so daunting as only two of the teams they have lost too are still in the top 25 (ND and SDSU).
But they still beat us twice!

My bad, I meant Baylor, also on the list.
And they two wins over us rank among their best wins.

Well, I wouldn't go quite that far yet (as far as saying their non-conference schedule isn't daunting). Yes, you're correct that only 2 teams are in the top 25, however, any top 100 RPI win is considered a quality win for the tourney resume. As much as I dislike Gonzaga, their Strength of Schedule is still #40...far tougher than SMC or anyone else in our conference and they have notched a few quality wins over top 100 teams: Xavier (RPI #24), Oklahoma State (#45), Marquette (#67), Baylor (disappointing but still above us at #75), IUPUI (#89), and us, UP (#79). So, like it or not they're still a bubble team. They're probably the only team in our conference that could not win the WCC tourney and still squeak into the tourney...
For comparisons sake, SMC has 2 wins over top 100 RPI teams: St. John's (#22) and Gonzaga...and their strength of schedule? #128. We also have 2: SMC (#34) and Florida Atlantic (#90).
