Haha! Seriously. I can't event think about what I was thinking about anymore! Apologies for getting us into this mess!!

Go Pilots! Cheers!

Let's just do our part and win the games on our schedule so we can celebrate with beer and not have to worry about mathematical probability garbage. Getting the #4 seed would be nice, but, it is no guarantee of anything. There are only 2 really bad teams in the WCC this season. Any team seeded 3 or below is going to have a tough road...

And of those "2 really bad teams" one was a preseason favorite to contend and took us a few overtimes to beat at home and the other handed Saint Mary's one of its 2 conference losses. It's wide open. What a way to end the pre-BYU chapter in WCC history

If we were to win a tiebreaker with a loss on Saturday, wouldn't we be ahead outright with a win in your scenario R54. Maybe you should get some more sleep.

SOOOOOO Close to St. Mary's winning and Santa Clara losing which would have been ideal. Unfortunately neither happened...

The way I see it, if SCU loses to Pep, we get #4 regardless of the outcome of our game. But if they win, not only would we need to beat SMC, but GU would have to lose to USD.

tmac has it right. Per the pregame blurb:
Seeding Scenarios
Portland can clinch fourth place in the league standings and a first round WCC Tournament bye if the Santa Clara Broncos lose on Saturday to Pepperdine. The only scenario the Pilots would get the fourth seed with a SCU win would be if the Pilots win and San Diego defeats Gonzaga.
So today we are Wave fans. I am not seeing any TV broadcast info for their game.

Might as well be Torrero fans while we are at it. Not too many scenarios involve me being a Bulldog fan.

Gonzaga is up big so it looks like we need to win and we need Pepperdine to win to get the 4 seed. Pepperdine is up early. They only need to hold on 36 more minutes!

Santa Clara 71 - 68 over Pepperdine. That clinches the 4th seed for them. So see you all at the game Friday in Vegas.

The women got the first round bye based on RPI.

Too bad that's not a seeding element for the men.

Does USF or Saint Mary's own the tie breaker for 2 seed if we win tonight?

So we play LMU on Friday. They played tough in two road games this weekend, and fell short in each. Hugely disappointing season for them. It will be interesting to see what kind of attitude they bring to LV. I wouldn't be shocked in we blow them out, and I wouldn't be shocked if they play us tough and win a close game. If Douglas can't go, we are in trouble.
