2011-12 Schedule
The field for the tournament we're playing at UW to start the season is set... we'll be playing Washington, Georgia State, and Florida Atlantic (who I'm sure will be eager for payback.)
Other games we know for sure...
@ Kentucky
@ St. Louis
@ Nevada
@ Utah
@ UCSB
@ Boise State
(Ahhhhhhhh!)
As far as home games:
Portland State
Montana
Idaho
I assume probably Seattle as well. Not sure where we stand with WSU. We played them at a "neutral" site in the Tri-Cities last year... they possibly could owe us a return game for that.

GULP! I would qualify this as the "character building" portion of our schedule...

I think you mean Seattle...
Anyway, that is a scary looking schedule so far. I hope Coach Rev can get in a few more home games to make the boys feel better... preferably when the students are around.

Bumping up against the 30 game limit, or pretty close to it. Only a couple more to go. Remember, there are 16 conference games this year.
Anyone know how many games the first weekend counts as with the new NCAA math?

Ummm....I'm pretty sure that Seattle, combined with Minneapolis and St. Paul make up the Tri-Cities, so Stonehouse was correct.

Tricities.com yields Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City.
Case closed.
But Seattle, Tacoma, Minneapolis, and St. Paul make up the Quad Cities.
No...wait...

Obviously I meant the sub-artcic power trio Tri-Cities: Moose Jaw, Moose Pass, and Moose Lake.

Re: 2011-12 Schedule
Sorry to tangent, but according to the NCAA DI Handbook:
Following this, if the team has 16 conference games and plays all the games Stoney listed they have 2 slots to fill. Assuming Seatle takes one who should they play to fill the final hole?
17.3.5.1 Maximum Limitations—Institutional. An institution shall limit its total regular-season playing
schedule with outside competition in basketball during the playing season to one of the following (except for
those contests excluded under Bylaw 17.3.5.3: (Revised: 4/27/06 effective 8/1/06; contracts signed before 1/8/06 for
events scheduled to occur prior to the second Friday in November may be honored)
(a) 27 contests (games or scrimmages) and one qualifying regular-season multiple team event per Bylaw
17.3.5.1.1; or
(b) 29 contests (games or scrimmages) during a playing season in which the institution does not participate
in a qualifying regular-season multiple team event.

Gosh, I would love to see U of O or OSU at home, but we all know they are too scared to play us now (and U of O would want to show off their arena). But, if we could get another game against a nationally ranked team at the Rose Garden with some ESPN love again? That would be a good game.

I'm thinking a home and away with Boston College or Harvard would be nice...

I think those teams should be the ones gulping. Our talent level is going up dramatically. It´s just a matter of how fast the new guys can learn Rev´s system. I think that a few of our new guys absolutely have to see some quality minutes next season...like Kevin Bailey. I hope Rev sees it that way too...

Re: 2011-12 Schedule
It will probably be against a team we can definitely beat. My guess is a lower tier team from a mid-major conference in the south or southwest.
