Broncos Beat Utah; Daye a First Rounder?
Don't know if people saw this score or not, but Santa Clara thumped Utah at Utah last night 72-57. Definitely a nice win for the Broncos.

I also saw this on Chad Ford's ESPN 2008 draft projection, saying that Gonzaga freshman Austin Daye is potentially a first rounder. Wow! I've seen him play and he is indeed very smooth and talented, but I'm guessing this has more to do with the fact that he's 6'10" and can shoot/handle toe ball than anything else. Still... when's the last time the WCC had a one-and-done guy? I'm thinking never...

Several other freshmen are projected as first-rounders this season, including Syracuse's Donte Green, Arizona's Jerryd Bayless, Oklahoma's Blake Griffin, Gonzaga's Austin Daye and Florida's Nick Calathes.
