Austin Daye: Torn ACL
Ouch. I'm not fan of the Zags, but you hate to see guys get hurt:

He might be able to return by January or February or so... it really depends on the severity of the injury I guess.
I wonder what that will mean for his draft status. He should be 100% for sure by the time the draft rolls around... but he might not be the lottery pick he was expecting to be. Will definitely be interesting.

awwwww...
That's tough. Though I wasn't looking forward to him getting his highlight reels on us, I gotta feel for the guy.
If it's really torn, I think he ought to sit out the whole year. It seems silly and risky to bring a guy back right at the part of the season where everything heats up and guys in great shape are flying all around.
I hope the team does right by him and good luck in his recovery.

Re: Austin Daye: Torn ACL
Well obviously I don't think they should push him if he's not ready. I guess what I meant was since it's not likely that he's going to stay all four years, it wouldn't really make sense for them to use a redshirt on him if he were ready to go come tournament time.
ACL tears can really vary. Sometimes it's six months, sometimes it's more than a year.

He'll have to came back for a season to show he's not damaged goods anyway. No Pro team will spend the millions on him if he's suspect.

Re: Austin Daye: Torn ACL
That is horrible news, I feel for the kid ... If he plays this year it will only be for a short time I'm sure... and not to be selfish but I hope his stock doesn't drop too much, I don't want to have to deal with that wiry force for another 2 years...

Re: Austin Daye: Torn ACL
Looks like the latest updates indicate that it is only a partial tear and that the other ligaments (MCL, PCL, etc.) weren't damaged. So that's all good news for Austin and the Zags. If the surgery and rehab go well, I bet he could be back during WCC play at some point.
