Re: Minutes vs. Pepp
I think Coach knows what he's doing.
In Rev we trust!
Admittedly, I second guessed the women's coach tonight, but I have a higher level of trust in Rev and his staff.
I know that’s a simplistic answer, but I’ve got to leave the coaching to Rev while I yell at the refs in an attempt to get them sorted out.

I didn't mean to question it, just interesting... looking for any insight/thoughts. It would be interesting to know what is going on at practice...

I'm sure Rev knows point guard will be a need next year, maybe Carr has been playing it well in practice so he got a shot at it in a conference game.

My main complaint is that when Pepperdine was going on their big run in the second half, Rev refused to call a timeout. We had a lineup that was lost out there, but he just let them keep playing. That's when the game got out of hand. I think a timeout and a substitution or two would have really helped.
I continue to be amazed at just how bad Nem has played this year. Rev has given him a lot of minutes this year to work it out, but clearly other players have earned more time than Nem. It's too bad, I had high hopes for him this year.

Tanner seems to be picking it up. I really liked when coach told him a few weeks ago that he needed to score. I think he took that to heart.

It's been hard to watch, Nem has been one of my favorite players the last few years and now I find myself saying things like "wow the season needs to be over so Nem's eligibility runs out" (Horrible thing to say, but in the words of R. Kelly: Real talk) But you gotta wonder what is up, you don't go from shooting 46% to 29% at 3s. I mean I know he faces tighter defense without Jared, but seriously that is a HUGE drop! Sigh, it really has kind of defined the season unfortunately.

Re: Minutes vs. Pepp
Nem's problem has to be confidence or something mental. I'd be interested to see his % on open looks - it can't be much more than 35%.

Hahaha I mean for a drop as precipitous as his I'd almost wonder if he has some sort of inner ear issue or maybe:

Disappointed that happened AGAIN! This is what I wrote on December 11th after the Ohio game:blacksheep wrote:

I did not watch last night's game, but again, I hate to second guess the guy that's paid to do the job.Am I the only one who saw the game last evening that’s more than a little concerned about some of the coaching decisions and use of a short bench when it appeared our guys were being ground into the hardwood? For me it was a repeat of Boise State in almost all respects; competitive early, short bench, tired legs.
We’re young, but I don’t think the coaches put the guys in a position to play their best as a team over the last couple of games.

What are internet forums for, if not Monday morning quarterbacking and second guessing?

A half dozen Sam Adams Utopias will put him back on track.

Only Sam Adams I've had is the free stuff I got at their brewery tour.... OH and I did have this:
SA Thirteenth Hour
Also when you do the brew tour they let you have a bunch of samples, including some stuff from their in house brewery competition that was actually pretty tasty.
Another thing I've noticed, they LOVE their pumpkin ales out here. I don't recall the name of it, but I had one that was 11% and tasted like I was drinking a cold pumpkin spiced latte. It was strange... But Magic Hat out of Vermont makes some pretty decent stuff and you could do a lot worse than a Harpoon IPA, but I do like the whole having multiple kinds of Dogfish Head Ale on tap at most decent public houses.

Re: Minutes vs. Pepp
Harpoon IPA is one of the few beers that I feel tastes better out of a bottle than on draught. I'm not a big fan of Magic Hat, I think Long Trail (VT) has better beers than them. I recommend the Double Bag. If you get a chance do the Vermont Brewery tour. You can get a punch card at any of the breweries and depending on how many you stop at..you get different swag. Southern Tier out of New York has some decent stuff as well. You could definitely do a lot worse than the Northeast to find decent microbrews (Indiana...amiright??)
Back to the Rev timeout question/thought...Didn't we have the same complaint a few years ago when we had a young team? I seem to remember something about Rev wanting the team to be able to play out of that trouble. Not so say that we are throwing this season away, but maybe when the games get (more important?) in a year or two, Rev won't leave the guys out there for those tough moments. But in this season is trying to use it as a teaching tool. But what do I know, I've only seen about 4 games all year.

Yes, he did state that a couple times, and I am wondering if that is the case again. He stated that he was not going to call a time out in some situations where he couldnt really "do anything", the team just needed to execute. Agree or disagree, sometimes you just need to mix things up when the other team is rolling, so I would have thought a TO would have been good to change something up. But, obviously I dont know what goes on in practice, etc, so I could be wrong.
