Preseason

I was on campus this morning and saw the men in what must be their first or second practice of the preseason. I think everyone was there, and nobody looked like they were being held out for injury or anything.

From what I can see of the new players, it looks like we did a pretty good job of reloading.

The session I saw for a while was more fitness than scrimmage when I was there. It wore me out , so I went and got a beer.


I didn't see any sign of the new banners we were told about at Merlo on twitter, unless they were talking about the new advertising banners for sponsors. I'd have to look at a picture from last year to see if they were different. In any case, we will need a new banner with the names of the latest Olympians.

Lots of work on the new additions to the Chiles center. Fences traction and Sheetrock delivery..

I saw the new banners today! I don't know when they went up. The student section one is similar to the old one in the sense that it shows screaming students and says "student section." The other side said "Portland Pilots" big on it I believe and the left said, "leading the nation in attendance since 2005" and the right said "18 pilots in (something) and the pros."

Let me edit my previous statement to say: "18 National Team Members, 94 Pilots in the Pros."

Also the ones behind the goal were updated with the 2011 numbers.
