Re: WCC MXC
Frustrated by the inability to get up-to-the-minute results of our X-C runners? Well, the WCC says that's a thing of the past, and have created a website so you can find out what's happening at this Saturday's WCC X-C Championships at Fernhill Park in Portland.
Here's the link: http://www.wccsports.com/ot/12-west-xc-tourney-central.html
The action starts at 9 a.m. and the awards luncheon is a at 1 p.m.

Re: WCC MXC
Last year they had a live feed, is that happening this year by chance?
A little disappointed in the course. It would have been neat for them to include the treed area to the north which also has a short but steep hill section. Exposed roots and a near hairpin turn might make it a bit dangerous though. More track on grass I guess.

ABSOLUTELY! WOW...not expected by the BYU team, that's for sure. Maybe just wet and muddy enough for the Pilots to feel at home.......oh wait...pilotram wrote:Men's team beats BYU by ONE POINT!! Nice work guys! Way to get the crown back where it belongs!

Re: WCC MXC
Good showing by the women too, coming in 2nd ahead of BYU, and behind a very, very strong USF squad.
I'm thinking everyone was a little disoriented....the official scoring continually referred to Fern Hill Park being in Eugene.

Re: WCC MXC
According to this quick release by the WCC, Gonzaga came in third with 10 points! Pepperdine also finished last with 28 points. Portland had 32. I don't know how that math works out... It looks like the WCC needs a better editor or to take its time.

Re: WCC MXC
I was at the meet yesterday and, in my opinion, there is no question that it greatest meet in Pilot history. Upsetting #5 BYU by 1 point to reclaim the WCC crown, and at home, it really doesn't get my better than that! Plus the support for the team was HUGE. I really hope some of you guys were there to witness the MASSIVE celebration that ensured after the scores were announced (have you ever seen a crowd rush a track before?). Conner was glowing afterwards.
Minus the Women's soccer championships, this had to be the greatest day in Pilot Athletics. Truly something special.

Re: WCC MXC
Yes, it was one of the greatest wins by a Pilot athletic team....a very noteworthy achievement that should make every Pilot fan proud.
And now it’s off to the regionals on Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle on November 9th.
The top two teams there will have automatic bids to the NCAA Championships in Louisville on November 17th.
Stanford is the prohibitive favorite in Seattle, but UP has a solid chance to upset Oregon for 2nd place, with UCLA 4th. UO is very strong with UP's top runner from last year as their number 1, but I think our guys are fired up and confident....

Re: WCC MXC
Don’t forget, the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams will be at the Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle for the 10k NCAA West Regional today. The women go at noon and the men at 1:30.
Stanford should win the men’s race and earn the automatic bid to Louisville. But what about the second automatic bid? Can UP upset Oregon and stay ahead of UCLA?
The Pilots are fired up and confident....we’ll just have to wait and see.
