EUGENE – Oregon’s men’s cross country team was one of 13 squads extended an at-large bid for the NCAA Championships next Saturday in Louisville, Ky., the university said Saturday in a press release.
The 11th-ranked Ducks finished fourth in Friday’s NCAA West Regional behind Stanford, Portland and UCLA, which also received an at-large bid Saturday.
The men will be returning to the NCAA Championships after missing them in 2011.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognized 450 athletes that earned All-Region awards for cross country in Division I following this weekend’s NCAA Regional Championships. Athletes of member schools that finished in the top 25 individually at one of the nine regional sites earned the honor.

Early results have us in 12th at Nationals.

We did indeed finish in 12th, which is an excellent result. The Pilots were the top team from the West Coast finishing above Stanford, UCLA, and Oregon. Scott Fauble earned All-America status with his performance. By the way, he finished ahead of Oregon's top placer, whose name we won't mention.

I was watching the live feed and saw him finish behind Fauble, then I laughed.
