Interesting…GU just made an offer to class of 2013 Dominic Woodson out of Round Rock, Texas. It’s interesting because Dominic is a 4-star 6-10 295 center…..and GU already has two 7-footers…a sophomore and an incoming freshman.

I’m thinking Coach Few is seeing a move to PF for the 4-star.

Nine of the 10 WCC head coaches shared a sigh of relief today as Dominic Woodson commits to Memphis for the coming season.

I'd guess it will be tough for Woodson to turn down Memphis or Rhode Island with their intriguing new coach Hurley.

Woodson was originally signed by Baylor, but was then released.....Woodson put himself back on the market earlier this month after Baylor big men Isaiah Austin and Cory Jefferson chose to stay in school. At 6-10/315 Woodson will certainly have an impact.

Yea, a wonderful pickup for GU, Melson is another Jefferson of Portland player who "needed to get away."

Obviously UP observed him play at some point, but to the best of my knowledge never actively recruited the 3-star shooting guard.

There are a lot of factors in the equation when a school sets its sights on a student/athlete; I don't think young Silas matched what UP is looking for.

But dang, it sure would be nice to get a Portland area player......

It would seem what happens in Spokane always has some effect on UP, and in the latest case, it’s the one that got away…..

Very thin at the forward position, GU has been pursuing senior-to-be 6-9/220 Richard Amardi a former signee at Iowa St, but he just became Dana Altman’s 6th senior transfer in the last 3 years at UO.

I’m sure there’ve always been high expectations for Amardi after he graduated from God’s Academy in Scarborough, Canada, but he's most recently been at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa where he was a PF.

Whoa now...us Canadians have nothing to do with that God's Academy school (Dallas) that allegedly has had numerous academic issues over the last few seasons.

Big day for GU.....they've landed 2014 PG Josh Perkins.....considered by some to be the most significant commit GU has ever landed.  He's certainly the highest ranked recruit ever to commit to GU, ranked #24 overall (not just PG) by ESPN.

Perkins is the second commit from the 2014 class, joining Silas Melson, the highly rated a shooting guard from Portland's Jefferson HS.

As much as you love to hate GU, you can't do much but tip your hat to them at times like this...they now have this guy, Melson, and Wiltjer coming in so that's one heck of a recruiting class already with a couple more spots to fill yet.

There, I've said something nice about Gonzaga, should be good for another 12 months or so.

Those boys in Spokane (Kyle Wiltjer, Kevin Pangos, Drew Barham) DO have fun!   

It would appear the video was shot by Kyle's sister, Ariana, a 6-5 junior volleyballer at Jesuit.

It seemed from the beginning of WCC play that onetime 4-star SG Gerard Coleman might transfer closer to home to play his 5th year after graduating this spring, but GU's signing of  3-star Silas Melson out of Jefferson HS in Portland probably sealed the deal.

Coleman announced he'll be moving closer to his Boston home to play next year.
