If in doubt, call your D-3 lawyer.SalemMcMinnville where this happens from time to time.

Re: Anybody know what the story is with DC?
Spoke with DC after the PBC game on Friday (as best I remember it):
"Yes sir, I'm heading to Cali on Tuesday."
Are you coming back after winter break?
"No sir, I plan to transfer; I'm sure going to miss everyone here, but I can't wait to get to Cali."
Any chance you could change your mind?
"I need to find a place I can play."
Been talking to any schools?
"No, not really, just to a lot of my friends".
We’re really going to miss you; you’re a fun guy to be around, and just a really GOOD guy!
“Thank you, I’m really going to miss everyone here too, but big changes are going on and I need people that are going to be with me. It’s time to build some new roads on my path of life..............”

Re: Anybody know what the story is with DC?
No new information but it seems official. Got this press release earlier today:
Also of note, I'm not sure if it's been this way for a while but Dorian is no longer listed on the portlandpilots.com roster page.
PORTLAND, Ore. --- Sophomore men's basketball student-athlete Dorian Cason will not return to the University of Portland for the spring semester, head coach Eric Reveno announced on Thursday. Cason, a 6-7 forward who averaged 4.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game as a freshman last season, had not suited up or appeared in a game this year.
TRANSACTIONS: University of Portland men's basketball announces that sophomore forward Dorian Cason has left the program.

Re: Anybody know what the story is with DC?
In this thread there is a suggestion that we recruit a power forward to replace Dorian. Though I am not opposed to the Pilots bringing in another big, I think our area of greatest need is in the backcourt where shooting, scoring or the ability to make a play if the called play breaks down is limited, arguably more limited than I have seen. We are not getting much production from our back court.
If there is a JC swing player who can shoot and score and perhaps start at the big guard, who can give us an offensive threat from that position, I would take him, leave the boards to our current roster of players.
On a related note, anyone have any insight into who Reveno might have gone to Vancouver BC to watch and recruit?

Re: Anybody know what the story is with DC?
All I know about the recruiting this fall is the coaches, not just Rev, have been to a number of venues to watch JC/CC and high school games......mostly in California, Arizona, BC, and even Alaska.
I've also been told there have been some very good JC players in the last couple of years who have either not shown an interest in UP, or if they are interested, they cannot meet the academic requirements or do not show the potential to succeed the academic rigors of UP.

Re: Anybody know what the story is with DC?
Considering one of Dorian Cason’s stated reasons for leaving UP was to be closer to home in Southern California, it seems really ODD that he’s apparently (unconfirmed) landed in Twin Falls, Idaho at College of Southern Idaho...a community college.
Obviously he’s got a plan to get back to D-1, someday. Good luck, Dorian.
