NFL Playoffs

Like so many others, this is the time of year I really start paying attention to the NFL. As a public service I’ve done a little research on each of the teams and share that research here with the NFC schedule (all times PST):

Saturday @ 5 pm: Vikings @ Packers



Sunday @ 1:30 pm: Seahawks @ Redskins

And here’s the AFC schedule:

Saturday @ 1:30 pm: Bengals @ Texans



Sunday @ 1000 am: Colts @ Ravens

Now that my fantasy season is over, I guess I'll have to actually watch the games.

Is this about football? I was just looking at the pictures.

But did you know that these two teams that did not make the playoffs have now had their head coach fired?

Arizona and San Diego:

After watching the Jeff Fisher coached Rams this season, there is no doubt in my mind they will be contenders in the seasons to come.

I was very impressed by their qb Sam Bradford and OSU alum, rb Steven Jackson.

I didn't see much of their cheerleading corps, but I know they too have great potential....

Well, we now know who will play two of the games next weekend:

Funny. The Packers' girls look like wholesome college kids. The other teams' girls . . . don't.

Ha ha, yea, I have a heckava time finding "don't" pictures of the Packers' ladies.

Wait, they are wearing boots?

Wow, there were some good games this past weekend, three out of four ain't bad, but really tough losses for the Broncos and Seahawks.

The first game next weekend will be for the NFC Championship and will feature San Francisco @ Atlanta @ noon (PST) on Sunday:

The AFC Championship on Sunday @ 3:30 (PST) has the Baltimore Ravens traveling to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots:

I checked, there is no rule, but it's very difficult to find any cheerleaders (wait, are they a dance team?) donning other than white footwear.

There are exceptions, but usually on a "costume day," but the Houston Texans ladies sometimes wear red boots, and this past season wore pink boots to heighten our awareness of breast cancer.

Good games today. Heck of comeback for the 49ers over the Falcons, and in my estimation, the Ravens toughness dominated the Patriots.

Proud day for the Harbaugh family; Jim and John may have excellent teams, but they are also the two best football minds leaders of talent in the NFL.

Yes, I’m a lifelong 49ers fan, but I look forward to a heck of matchup in New Orleans on February 3; kickoff at 3:29 PST.

The Super Bowl game can sometimes be a disappointment, but the advertisements are usually pretty good.....

OK, there was a game played in New Orleans on Sunday, and my team did NOT win.....so why did I feel like a winner at halftime?

One guess:

Beyonce Baaaaad!!!

One of the most interesting games in decades of Super Bowl mediocrity and what we get is Beyonce in lace and leather and A NYT headlines about the lights and Ray Lewis.

the score isn't even mentioned in the Sports section.

Saw only a small part of the Beyonce show, that's what channel changers are for.

Someone still reads the NYT?

As a 49er fan not wanting to relive the game, I was reluctant to look at the headlines last night, but I really wanted to know if that was actually a reunion of Destiny's Child.......I was rewarded with nothing but Beyoncé and the rest of the (single) ladies.

There was enough booty-shaking to keep me pleased for years to come....as long as I don't inadvertently erase recording from my DVR.

……but the highlight of the evening was the Sandy Hook Elementary School Chorus and Jennifer Hudson…..enough to make a few grown men cry…

I'm saving the sports section. It'll be in the box I have under the bed with the headlines for the Kennedy assassinations, MLK and the moon landing.

When I am in the home (again) and somebody asks me what a newspaper was and why it died as a medium, I'll just show them the progression.
